Man Arrested In Connection With Two Shootings In Area, Police Say The arrest of a Town of New Windsor man for possession of a semi-automatic handgun led to the discovery that he was allegedly involved in two shooting incidents. Ryan Disca, 23, was arrested by City of Newburgh Police around 8:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, while in possession of a Hi-Point 9mm semiautomatic handgun, said City of Newburgh Police Det. Flooding Leads To Evacuation Of About 50 From Long Island Restaurant More than 50 people had to be rescued from a Long Island restaurant after it flooded with water from the nor'easter that caused extremely high tides. The Bay Shore Fire Department, along with Suffolk County Police rushed to the Lakehouse Restaurant in Bay Shore around 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, as the water began to rise and flood the restaurant, trapping all inside, said the Suffolk County Police. Southern State Parkway Five-Vehicle Crash Slows Traffic A five-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway has slowed traffic, but the highway is still passable. The crash took place around 8:56 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, eastbound near Exit 20 in South Hempstead, said the New York State Police. Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim said there were no serious injuries.  The South Hempstead Fire Department and Nassau County Police assisted at the scene. There is no lane closure at this time, state police said.

The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, when two Spring Valley Police officers were on patrol in the Spring Valley Market Place when they spotted Derrick McMullin who was wanted for numerous traffic-related offenses, said Spring Valley Officer Matthew Galli. Women Ejected From Vehicle During Fiery Bridgeport Crash, Police Say A woman was ejected from her burning vehicle during a crash on Route 25 in Bridgeport. The crash took place around 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, when the woman lost control of her vehicle while traveling southbound on Route 25 just before the split in the highway near exit 5, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. The woman was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled over and then brust into flames, Jones said. Highland Man Nabbed For Allegedly Stealing $1,800 In Jewelry, Police Say A Highland man has been arrested for allegedly ripping off some $1,800 in jewelry. Dominick Teroni Jr., 45, was arrested by Town of Lloyd Police after he was accused of entering another person's home and stealing the jewelry, Town of Lloyd police said. Teroni was charged with felony burglary, grand larceny, and petit larceny. He was arraigned before the Town of Lloyd Judge Eugene Rizzo and is being held at the Ulster County Jail without bail.
