She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Father, Son Charged In Area Burglary An area father and son are behind bars after being nabbed for burglary in Ulster County. Paul V. Cahill Jr., 52 and his 20-year-old son Paul V. Cahill III, both of Walden, were arrested around 8:45 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, after Ulster County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on Albany Post Road in the Town of Shawangunk for a reported burglary in progress, said Det. Nearly Two Dozen Rose-Adorned Street Signs Stolen In Briarcliff Manor There are lots of things that make Briarcliff Manor a quaint and great place to live and one of them is the street signs adorned with roses. But someone, or a group of people, are stealing or damaging the signs, ripping them right off their posts, said Village Manager Philip E. Zegarelli. The signs started disappearing in September and to date, 21 signs are now in need of replacement, Zegarelli said in a letter to residents. Tractor-Trailer Hit by CSX Train In West Nyack, Police Say A tractor-trailer and CSX train collided in West Nyack, cutting power to the area. The collision took place around 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at the Pineview Crossing, said the Clarkstown Police. The crash took down power wires, with some 30 customers left without power. Suspect At Large After Stolen Car Left Running At Long Island 7-Eleven Police are looking for a suspect in the theft of a 2005 red Corvette from a Coram 7-Eleven parking lot. The incident took place Friday, Oct. 11, after a man walked into the store on Route 112, leaving the keys in the ignition, said the Suffolk County Police. A security camera at the store captures a man walking up the car and then the camera freezes. The Corvette's license plate says L-I-2-4-7-TOWING. Area Resident Arrested After Hitting Victim During Domestic Dispute, Police Say A 40-year-old woman was arrested following a domestic dispute in which she allegedly hit the victim. Four Rescued After Boat Capsizes In Long Island Sound Four people were rescued from the waters of Long Island Sound after the catamaran capsized while attempting to anchor. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, near Fishers Island, said Coast Guard spokesman Petty Officer Hunter Medley. Medley said the group was attempting to drop anchor when the boat capsized.
