Small Earthquake Reported In Hudson Valley
Did you feel it?
Believe it or not, a small earthquake hit the Hudson Valley, but according to officials with the U.S. Geological Service, zero people have reported feeling it.
The quake hit about 10:41 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 24, in West Nyack on the Hackensack River near the New York Thruway, service officials said.
The magnitude was just 1.1 on the Richter Scale, they added.
That means unless you were right on top of the quake, you probably would not feel a thing, an earthquake specialist added.

One Killed In Kingston's First Homicide In Two Years, Police Say
One person was killed during a shooting in Kingston, the first homicide in the city since 1917.
The shooting took place around 8:10 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 24, in the area of Prospect Street at Cedar Street, said the Kingston Police.
Police have released little other details, except to say that they are being assisted by the New York State Police, Ulster County District Attorney's Office, Ulster County Sheriff's Department, Ulster Police Department, and Saugerties Police Department K9 unit.

Off-Duty Nypd Officer Shoots Man With Bat Outside Nassau County Home
An off-duty NYPD officer shot a man who confronted him with a bat in a Seaford neighborhood, according to police.
The assault took place around 12:02 a.m., Friday, Oct. 25, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, officers responded to a residence on Stirrup Path for shots fired.
The homeowner, 34, while on his property, was confronted by another man, 29, with a bat, Nassau County Police said.
The two men were involved in an altercation and the homeowner, a sergeant with the NYPD stationed in Queens, fired a weapon, striking the man.

Area Dad Who Left Twins In Hot Car Won't Testify If Case Goes To Grand Jury, Lawyer Says
The attorney for a Hudson Valley dad who left his 1-year-old twins in a hot car in July, causing both of their deaths, said his client will not testify if the matter is sent to a grand jury.
Attorney Joey Jackson made the comment following a brief hearing on Thursday, Oct. 24, where prosecutors told Rockland resident Juan Rodriguez, of New City, that the matter had not been presented to a grand jury and the case was once again adjourned until Dec. 5.

Man Arrested For Kicking Jaguar During Road-Rage Incident
A Redding man was arrested following a road rage incident with another motorist in Sandy Hook.
Nicholas Knapp, 32, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 23, after he allegedly became violent and kicked another vehicle that had almost hit his vehicle on Wasserman Way, said Newtown Lt. Aaron Bahamonde.
An investigation by Newtown Police found that Knapp, who was driving a 2012 Kenworth T800 construction vehicle for KTI Utility, and another motorist who was driving a 2004 Jaguar X-Type sedan, engaged in a dispute after the sedan almost hit the Kenworth, Bahamonde said.
