Driver Injured After Side-Swiping Tractor-Trailer In Area, Police Say One person was injured during a side-swipe crash between a car and a tractor-trailer in the area. The crash took place around 6:40 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 24 in Orange County on Route 208 and Sleep Way in South Blooming Grove, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. According to Nevel, the driver of the car side-swiped the side of the tractor-trailer. The driver of the car was transported to Orange Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash is under investigation.

Stamford Man, 23, Dies After Being Arrested For Domestic Dispute With Mother Police say a man arrested following a domestic dispute with his mother died while in custody in Stamford. The incident began around 11:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22 when Stamford officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute between a mother and her 23-year-old son, said Stamford Interim Chief of Police Thomas Wuennemann. When officers arrived on the scene, the mother told them her son had fled prior to their arrival. Thieves Swipe Numerous Wallets At Avon Theater Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly stole multiple wallets out of purses at the Avon Theatre in Stamford while posing as moviegoers. The thefts took place during the 7:30 p.m. showing of "Judy" on Saturday, Oct. 19, said Sgt. Sean Scanlan. The suspects, described as two teenage black males and one teenage black female, took wallets from numerous purses, Scanlan said. Area Man Accused Of Stealing $30K In Daycare Payments A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing almost $30,000 in daycare payments he wasn't eligible to receive. Curtis A. Parks, of Wappinger Falls, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 22, following an investigation by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with the Department of Community and Family Services, said Capt. Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle On Route 303 In Rockland A bicyclist received minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Route 303 in Tappan. The incident took place around 1:50 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, where Route 303 meets with Oak Tree Drive, the Orangetown Police said. The rider was transported to Nyack Hospital, said Det. Sgt. Three Pedestrians Struck On West Jericho Turnpike Three pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on Long Island. The incident took place around 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Syosset, said the Nassau County Police. Officers said the three were struck at the intersection of West Jericho Turnpike and Underhill Boulevard. Three people were hit by a vehicle.Google Maps All received injuries, but police did not know the extent of injuries at this time.
