Long Island Woman Accused Of Driving Drunk In Crash That Killed Bicyclist
A woman who was allegedly driving drunk hit in a crash that killed a bicyclist on Long Island, police said.
The Suffolk Countycrash took place at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, on Flamingo Avenue in Montauk, said the East Hampton Town Police.
According to police, Lisa L. Rooney, 30, was driving a 2019 Chevy Silverado southbound on Flamingo Avenue when she hit, John James Usma-Quintero, 28, of Montauk, who was also traveling southbound.
Usma-Quintero was transported via Montauk Ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Rooney was charged with DWI.

Man Attacked With Machete Loses Three Fingers, Suffers Deep Cuts, Police Say
A 25-year-old man attacked with a machete suffered multiple cuts and had three fingers partially amputated.
The attack in Ulster County took place at 9:20 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, at a home on Clermont Street in the village of Saugerties, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.
When police responded to the scene, they found the victim bleeding profusely, having suffered multiple lacerations to his arms and legs, in addition to three partially amputated fingers, Sinagra said.

Woman Hit In Head With Hammer In Apparent Targeted Long Island Burglary
A woman was injured after being hit in the head with a hammer during what police are calling a targeted burglary in East Shoreham, police said.
The incident took place around 3 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 31, at an occupied home on Suffolk Down, said Suffolk County Police.
According to detectives, three men, one armed with what appeared to be a handgun, entered the home and confronted a man and woman who live in a rear bedroom, police said.
The suspects attempted to steal a safe but dropped it as they fled the home.

A Bridgeport man was injured during a single-vehicle crash after he lost control of his vehicle and plowed into the corner/porch of a home.
The crash took place at 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, on Boston Avenue, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
According to Jones, the driver, a 35-year-old man, was driving a 1998 Honda Civic at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crossed the intersection of Boston Avenue and Central Avenue and left the roadway.

Man Nabbed For Fraudulent Use Of Credit Card, Forgery, Police Say
A 36-year-old man wanted on a host of charges ranging from forgery to ID theft was arrested by Greenwich Police.
Michael Clennon, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and extradited back to Greenwich, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz.
Clennon was wanted for an incident in April in which several people allegedly entered a local business and made purchases using a fraudulent credit card, Slusarz said.
An investigation identified Clennon as one of the people responsible, he added.

Two Long Island Gas Station Robberies Could Be Linked, Police Say
Suffolk County detectives are working to determine if two robberies that occurred just hours, and miles, apart are related.
The first robbery took place around 7:35 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, when a man walked into USA Gas, at 188 N. Wellwood Ave., in Lindenhurst, and demanded money. He left the store with cash, Suffolk County Police said.
Roughly four hours later, a man robbed the Exxon, at 570 Sunrise Highway, in West Islip, police said. The man left with cash in the second robbery as well.
