She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Video: Man Live-Streaming Himself Driving 100 MPH Crashes Car On I-95, State Police Say Sometimes a trooper’s accident report writes itself. Connecticut State Police said the operator of a vehicle was kind enough to publicly live stream himself traveling on Interstate 95 over the Gold Star Memorial Bridge near Montville while driving at speeds reaching 100 mph before crashing. Click here to view the video. The posted speed limit for the Gold Star Memorial Bridge is 55 mph. "Speeding and live streaming are not only dangerous, but it is also illegal," the department said. Luckily, the driver was wearing his seatbelt and wasn't seriously injured.

Long Island Woman Throws Rock Into Window Of School, Runs Through Hallways, Police Say A 20-year-old Long Island woman was arrested after allegedly throwing a rock through a window to break into an area elementary school. Maria Campione, of Island Park, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1, after the Hewlett Fire Department responded to Hewlett Elementary School on Broadway for a false alarm, said the Nassau County Police. Woman Traveling At Unsafe Speed Injured As Car Becomes Engulfed In Flames After I-84 Crash A driver was injured after her car crashed and was engulfed in flames on I-84. Police say the car was heading eastbound on the interstate in East Fishkill on Monday, Dec. 30 when it went off the roadway into the center median and caught fire. They say the 41-year-old driver was apparently going at an unsafe speed in icy conditions. The Southeast woman was taken to Danbury Hospital with minor injuries.

Man Nabbed By DNA Match To $50K Jewelry Theft, Wilton Police Say A 32-year-old man is behind bars for allegedly stealing more than $50,000 in jewelry after a DNA sample placed him at the scene. Lucio Gonzales, of Bethel, was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday, Dec. 24, by Wilton Police near his home, said the Wilton Police Department. The investigation stems back to Feb. 10, when Gonzales was working to help a resident prepare a home for sale by providing handyman services, the department said. Suspect On Loose After Robbing Long Island 7-Eleven With Large Butcher Knife, Reports Say A Long Island 7-Eleven store was reportedly robbed by a man with a large knife, according to multiple sources. The incident took place around 1:45 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the store located at 358 Mooney Pond Road, in Farmingville, said the Suffolk County Police. According to Long Island News12, the robbery reportedly occurred when the man entered the store with a large butcher knife and demanded cash. Detectives did not confirm the use of a knife. The incident is under investigation, police said.

Man Killed While Walking Along Roadway In Northern Westchester A 78-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was walking on a roadway in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 29, when William O’Connor was walking in the area of Washington and Requa streets, said Peekskill Police Lt. Jack Galusha. O'Connor, of Peekskill, reportedly suffered a serious head wound and was unresponsive when police arrived on the scene. Man Stabs Victim In Front Of Infant In New Year's Eve Day Incident In Area, Police Say A 61-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stabbing another man during a disturbance with an infant in the room. Orange County resident Charles Nay, of Port Jervis, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 31, after Port Jervis Police responded to a reported stabbing, said Port Jervis Chief of Police William Worden. When police arrived on the scene, they found that Nay had allegedly stabbed a 39-year-old Port Jervis man in his upper torso with a large kitchen knife during a fight, Worden said. Man Found Dead At Greenwich Point A man believed to be in his mid 70s was found dead at Greenwich Point. The man's body was discovered late on Monday, Dec. 30, a short distance away from a car that was left unattended with its doors open during a rainstorm, said the Greenwich Police. The cause and manner of the man's death will be determined by the medical examiner, police said. However, at this time, there does not appear to be any foul play involved, they added. Two 28-Year-Olds Nabbed For Stealing Numerous Items From Local Retail Store, Police Say Two men were nabbed early in the morning for allegedly stealing numerous items from a local retail store. Rampo Police arrested the pair of 28-year-old Spring Valley residents on Tuesday, Dec. 31, after receiving a call from the store of a larceny in progress, police said. The caller told officers that the two men allegedly stole numerous items from the store shelves and displays, Ramapo Police reported.
