Man Seriously Injured After Construction Accident In Area A 78-year-old area man was seriously injured after falling off a scaffolding and onto the floor below. Cornelius Matthew Zabriskie, of Goshen, was injured around 9:20 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, while building a concrete stairwell on Inwood Drive, in the Town of Walkill, said the Wallkill Police. Zabriskie was rushed to Orange Regional Medical Center for treatment. The town of Wallkill detectives along with officials from the Occupational & Safety Administration are conducting an investigation.

ID Released For Man Found Dead At Greenwich Point A man found dead at Greenwich Point has been identified by police. The body of Douglas Cram, 76, of Greenwich, was discovered late Monday, Dec. 30, at Greenwich Point. Cram’s car was found parked within the recreation area with its doors open during a rainstorm, Greenwich Police said.  Police checked the area and located Cram’s body a short distance away.  At this time there does not appear to be any foul play, police said. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The crash took place around 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan., 1, near the corner of Ellsworth Street and Fairfield Avenue when Keith Commerford, 50, of Bridgeport, was allegedly speeding, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Man Warming Up Vehicle Has It Stolen At Gunpoint, Bridgeport Police Say A man who was warming up his vehicle had it stolen after a person with a gun got into the car, Bridgeport Police said. The incident took place around 8 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, on the 400 block of Wells Street, said Scott Appleby, Director of Office Of Emergency Management. No injuries were sustained by the victim, but the incident has officials warning against the practice. "Bridgeport PD advises the public to deter from warming up their vehicles when no one is present," Appleby said.

Man Jumps To His Death From Area Bridge On New Year's Day, Police Say A 29-year-old man died after jumping to his death from an area bridge on New Year's Day, said authorities. The apparent suicide by the resident of Dutchess County took place on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge, around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, said Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Watterson. Video: Man Live-Streaming Himself Driving 100 MPH Crashes Car On I-95, State Police Say Sometimes a trooper’s accident report writes itself.  Connecticut State Police said the operator of a vehicle was kind enough to publicly live stream himself traveling on Interstate 95 over the Gold Star Memorial Bridge near Montville while driving at speeds reaching 100 mph before crashing. Click here to view the video. The posted speed limit for the Gold Star Memorial Bridge is 55 mph.  "Speeding and live streaming are not only dangerous, but it is also illegal," the department said. Luckily, the driver was wearing his seatbelt and wasn't seriously injured.
