She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Search On For Attempted Robbery Suspect, Police Say Police are searching for a suspect in a reported attempted robbery that so far hasn't yielded any results. The incident took place around 6 p.m., Sunday, March 1 in the Jewett and Goldenrod Avenue area in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of Bridgeport's Office Emergency Of Management. Bridgeport police searched the area and requested a K-9 officer from state police, but a suspect has not been located, Appleby said. On Monday, March 2, Appleby said an investigation is underway and no additional information was available.

Latest Scams Impersonate Sheriff, Medicaid The scammers are at it again, and this time they are even pretending to be a local sheriff. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, a new scam involves callers identifying themselves as Sheriff Adrian "Butch" Anderson and tells the person they have been the victim of identity theft, said Capt. John Watterson. Another new scam is also hitting the phone lines with callers pretending to be from Medicare offer fake services that don't exist, the department said. Truck Overturns, Dumps Cement On Long Island Roadway A Long Island roadway has reopened after a cement truck overturned spilling fluids. The single-vehicle crash took place around 11:10 a.m., Monday, March 2, on Sheridan Boulevard, in Inwood, said the Nassau County Police. The crash dumped cement and fluids on the roadway, causing a call to hazmat officials and the Inwood Fire Department who worked to clear the roadway. The roadway reopened around 12:30 p.m., police said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Two Buildings Destroyed During Early Morning Blaze In Area Two buildings were destroyed during an early morning fire in the area. The fire started around 3:29 a.m., Monday, March 2, in Dutchess County at 318 Mill St. and 316 Mill St., in the City of Poughkeepsie, said Fire Chief Mark Johnson. First arriving crews found two floors on fire in the multi-story building with the flames moving upward, the chief said. After about 30 minutes firefighters moved outside to battle the blaze due to safety reasons, Johnson said. The fire spread to engulf the empty residence at 316 Mill St., the chief said. Teen Arrested For Stalking, Attempted Computer Trespass, Police Say A 19-year-old Rockland County teen has been arrested for alleged stalking and attempted computer trespass. Obdulio Chacon, of Nyack, was arrested on Friday, Feb. 28, by New York State Police following an investigation, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Chacon's arrest was the result of an investigation jointly conducted by the New York State Police Campus Sexual Assault Victims Unit and the State Police Haverstraw Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Nevel said. Missing Mom Case: State Supreme Court Dismisses Estranged Husband's Attorney's Gag Order Appeal A gag order will remain in place in the Fairfield County missing mom case after the state Supreme Court knocked down a request by Fotis Dulos' attorneys. The Connecticut State Supreme Court dismissed the appeal on Wednesday, Feb. 26, without issuing any reasoning for its decision. Man, Woman Charged With Attempted Home Burglary Two Fairfield County residents were arrested after allegedly attempting to break into an area home. Billy Joe Santos, 43, and Maria Demelo, 57, both of Bridgeport, were arrested on Thursday, Feb. 27, after Bridgeport Police responded to a call of a burglary on Ezra Street, said Scott Appleby, director of the Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management. Man Charged With DWI After Fiery Crash In Area A man was charged with alleged DWI following a fiery car crash in Rockland County. The incident took place around 2:43 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28, in the area of Route 45 and Pomona Road in Ramapo, said the Rampo Police.
