Burglary Suspect Nabbed Inside Occupied Northern Westchester Home, Police Say
A local man was arrested on burglary and other charges after he allegedly broke into an occupied Northern Westchester home.
Westchester County Police received a call shortly before 11:30 a.m., Sunday, March 1, reporting a burglary was in progress at 68 Maple Avenue, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the department.
Another person said the resident had just confronted an intruder in his apartment.
Police Officers Scott Forsythe, Brian Tierney and Bryan Yatsko responded, located the man inside the apartment and took him into custody, he added.

Suspect Nabbed In Sexually Motivated Burglary, Police Say
A 39-year-old area man has been arrested for an alleged sexually motivated burglary of a physically disabled person.
Eugene E. Brown, of the City of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 29, for the alleged attack on Bridge Street, in the City of Poughkeepsie, said City of Poughkeepsie Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
According to Clark, the incident took place around 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, when a 67-year-old physically disabled resident of an apartment in the area answered her doorbell and was met by a man who said he was looking for someone.

Two Buildings Destroyed During Early Morning Blaze In Area
Two buildings were destroyed during an early morning fire in the area.
The fire started around 3:29 a.m., Monday, March 2, in Dutchess County at 318 Mill St. and 316 Mill St., in the City of Poughkeepsie, said Fire Chief Mark Johnson.
First arriving crews found two floors on fire in the multi-story building with the flames moving upward, the chief said.
After about 30 minutes firefighters moved outside to battle the blaze due to safety reasons, Johnson said.
The fire spread to engulf the empty residence at 316 Mill St., the chief said.
