Fight Over Pot Leads Man To Threaten Stabbing Victim, Police Say
A fight over marijuana led to one man allegedly threatening to stab another with a knife.
The incident took place around 7 p.m., Saturday, March 7, in the area of North Middletown Road in Nanuet, said the Clarkstown Police.
According to police, the victim said while he was smoking marijuana with acquaintances he was asked multiple times by the suspect, identified as Jacob Jefferson, of Nanuet, for some, which he refused each time.
A verbal argument then turned into a physical altercation where Jefferson allegedly grabbed the victim and displayed a knife, police said.

Monroe Resident Killed In Crash With Oil Tanker Driven By Bridgeport Man
A 29-year-old Fairfield County man was killed after he crashed into the back of an oil tanker.
Patrick Mezick, of Monroe, was killed around 8:11 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, on Ortner Drive, just north of Route 145 in Westbrook, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to state police, for an unknown reason, Mezick, who was traveling southbound swerved and struck the tank/trailer portion of the truck that was traveling northbound.
Mezick died at the scene from his injuries, state police said.

Westchester Businessman Admits To Tax Evasion, Must Pay $395K
A Westchester County businessman has admitted to tax evasion for more than four years to the tune of almost $400,000.
Antonio Nikc, 58, of Chappaqua, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, March 3, to tax evasion for the years 2010 to 2014, for a total $395,745, said the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.

Police Asking For Public's Help Identifying Alleged Armed Robber
Police are asking the public for help identifying a man wanted in connection with an alleged armed robbery.
The incident took place around 1:20 a.m., Sunday, March 1, at the Sunoco gas station in the Town of Newburgh, located at 69 North Plank Rd.
During the robbery, the suspect, described as a black male, about 5-foot-10, medium build, entered the store and threatened the attendant with a knife while demanding cash, said Town of Newburgh PD Lt. James Nenni said.

Man Arrested On Thruway For Fleeing Police In Stolen Car, Police Say
A 33-year-old man who allegedly fled from state troopers on the Thruway was nabbed for driving a stolen vehicle.
John C. Johnson, 33, of Paterson, New Jersey, was arrested around 10 a.m., Thursday, March 5, after troopers received a report of a vehicle pursuit entering the state from New Jersey, involving a stolen vehicle, said New York State Police.
Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle on I-87 in the town of Tuxedo. While attempting to avoid police, Johnson's vehicle struck the guide rail sustaining heavy damage and continued for a short time before driving off the road.
