She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Fire Chief Removed From Duty Over Racist Posts About Protestors An area volunteer fire chief has been relieved of his duties after making racist comments on his Facebook page about protestors decrying police-related deaths. Washington Heights Fire Chief Chuck Healy was removed from duty on Tuesday, June 2, said officials with the volunteer fire department, which is based in the City of Middletown and covers the town of Wallkill. Tractor-Trailer Carrying Blueberries Overturns On I-84 A tractor-trailer driver transporting blueberries was not injured after losing control of his truck and blocking I-84 for hours. The incident took place in Orange County around 5 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, in the town of Wawayanda, near the City of Middletown, when the driver rolled the vehicle, blocking several lanes, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Rockland Double-Homicide Suspect Had Order Of Protection Against Him A man charged in the double homicide of a mother and daughter that left a 1-month-old baby girl motherless had an order of protection against him. Robert C. Williams III, 32, of Hillcrest, was arraigned Saturday, May 30, for the crime which took place in Rockland County on Tuesday, May 26, in Valley Cottage, said the Clarkstown Police Chief Raymond McCullagh. Police Searching For Suspect Who Shot Person In Front Of Norwalk Grocery Store Police are searching for the suspect responsible for shooting a person in the leg in front of an area grocery store. The incident took place in Norwalk around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, in the area of 79 Cedar St. When Norwalk Police arrived on the scene following a report of shots fired, they received information that a person had been shot and left the scene, Norwalk Police Lt. Man Nabbed With Crack During Investigation Into Long Island Overdose Narcotics agents investigating a fatal Long Island overdose nabbed a 29-year-old man in connection with the case. Covid-19: Seventh CT Inmate Dies Due To Virus A 60-year-old man is the seventh inmate under the supervision of the Connecticut Department of Correction to die from complications related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). New Round Of Vehicle Thefts, Larcenies Hit Rockland County Police are investigating another crime spree involving the theft of two stolen vehicles and numerous reports of larcenies from unlocked vehicles. Norwalk Woman Stopped For Speeding Busted With Drugs In Darien, Police Say A 26-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant for a stop last year in which police allegedly found drugs in her vehicle. Nicole Greenwald, of Norwalk, was arrested on Wednesday, May 20, for an incident which took place in Fairfield County in Sept. 2019, said Darien Police Dept. Sgt. James Palmieri.
