Duo Nabbed With Drugs Following Fight With Officers On Long Island, Police Say
Two men were arrested for drugs and one for attacking and injuring two police officers during a traffic stop associated with a countywide drug operation on Long Island.
Jonathan M. Burwell, 30, and Brian Jacobs, 33, both of Hogansburg in upstate Franklin County near the Canadian border, were arrested around 10:50 p.m., on Wednesday, October 28, in Bethpage, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, as part of Operation Natalie, Nassau County’s War Against Opioids, officers pulled over a gray 2006 Chevrolet Pickup truck for a defective license plate light.

Police: Trio From Westchester, Fairfield Counties Stole $2,768 Worth Of Items From Macy's
A trio from Westchester and Fairfield County were nabbed allegedly stealing more than $2K in goods from Macy's at the Jefferson Valley Mall.
Tonya Hanner, 54, of Mount Vernon, Damon Jones, 47, of Mount Vernon, and Cleon Clark, of Stamford, were arrested around 6:40 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 21, after officers stopped to investigate a vehicle parked in the fire lane of the mall, said the Yorktown Police.
A check of the vehicle found it was stolen from the City of Yonkers and as officers began investigating they noticed the three suspects working together allegedly stealing items worth $2,768 …
Trio Nabbed On Long Island With Weapons, Guns, After Wild Chase Involving Several Crashes
Three alleged gang members, one wanted for murder, were arrested by police who confiscated drugs and weapons during a wild takedown that involved several vehicle crashes.
The arrest took place on Thursday, Oct. 29 in Hauppauge.
That's when members of the Suffolk County Police Firearm Suppression Team, along with members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, located Brandon Hicks, 19, of Hauppauge, who had an active warrant from Nassau County for attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.

Man Killed After Car Crashes Down Embankment Into Tree In Fairfield County
A 56-year-old Fairfield County man was killed after his vehicle veered off a roadway amid heavy rain, went down an embankment and struck a tree.
Demar K. Thompson, of Bridgeport, was killed around 5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, about a mile north of Exit 12 in Shelton, while traveling southbound on Route 8, said Connecticut State Trooper Taylor Norton.
According to Norton, at the time of the crash and investigation, it was raining under daylight conditions, the roadway was wet, and traffic was moderate and moving at a steady flow.
