Woman Killed After Crashing Into Tree On Taconic Parkway
A 65-year-old woman was killed after losing control of her vehicle in a heavy rainstorm on the Taconic State Parkway.
Fatos Kaba, of Queens, was killed around 12:41 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29, northbound on the parkway in Dutchess County, in the town of Stanford, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
When troopers arrived on the scene, they found a 2008 Honda Fit was found in the center median, Hicks said.
An initial investigation suggests Kaba lost control during heavy rainfall, left the roadway, and struck a tree.

Man Breaks Woman's Nose, Knocks Her Unconscious, Police Say
A 37-year-old man was arrested after allegedly getting in a fight with a woman and breaking the woman's nose and knocking her unconscious.
Ulster County resident Jeffery Cafaldo, of Saugerties, was arrested around 1:01 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, following the fight on Country Club Drive, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra.
According to Sinagra, officers responded to the home after receiving a 911 call reporting a fight in progress.
When officers arrived on the scene they were met by multiple people, three of whom were injured and required medical treatment, he added.

Long Island Teen Charged With DWI Following Crash That Injured Two Passengers
A 19-year-old was arrested for alleged DWI following a crash that injured two of his passengers on Long Island.
The incident took place around 1:15 .m., Saturday, Oct. 31 in Southampton on Deerfield Road, said Lt. Susan C. Ralph.
According to Ralph, when police arrived on the scene of the crash they found a 2009 Honda Civic, with four passengers, had overturned.
The driver, Logan Gates, of Southampton, told officers swerved to avoid a deer, Ralph said.
