Gainesville Man Arrested For Strangling, Tackling Victim: Police A Gainesville man was arrested after he violently attacked a woman in his home earlier this week, police said. Officers responded to a home in the 10500 block of Neale Sound Court at 2:38 a.m. Tuesday, July 13 to investigate a fight that involved a 20-year-old woman who was strangled, Prince William County Police Said. Here's How To Adopt One Of The 4,000 Envigo Beagles The Department of Justice recently approved the transfer and adoption of 4,000 beagles from the cruel and inhuman conditions of the Envigo breeding facility in Cumberland. The beagles will be sent to the local Humane Society, where they will receive care and a healthy environment until they are settled in adequate shelters, according to the Virginia Coalition for Beagle Protection. Once they are in those various state shelters, they will be available for adoption into loving, safe forever homes. Reckless Driver Nearly Causes Crash During Pursuit In Stafford: Police A Stafford teen was arrested after her reckless driving nearly caused a collision, police said. Mickayla Lafayette, 19, was headed northbound on Richmond Highway at around 3:17 p.m. July 13, speeding at 67 MPH in a 45 MPH zone, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said. When Deputy R.M. Fire Sprinklers Save Dog From Fairfax Blaze Two sprinkler heads extinguished an apartment fire in Fairfax and spared a dog’s life on Wednesday, July 13. Fire officials responded to a report of an apartment fire in the 2300 block of Rolling Fork Circle and saw smoke coming from one of the units, the Fairfax County Fire Department said. The dog was the only occupant of the unit at the time of the fire, but was unharmed due to the fire sprinklers going off just in time, authorities said. Video footage revealed this woman was likely with the child around May 2022, the FBI reported.
