Barricaded Man In Car Closes Fairfax Intersection: Police A man who barricaded himself in his car closed a Fairfax County intersection Thursday, July 14, authorities said.Police responded to the scene at GW Memorial Parkway and Belle Haven Road in Belle Haven, and removed the man from his car around 11:30 a.m., county police said. The Parkway was expected to reopen shortly.

Missing Fredericksburg Senior Found Safe The Fredericksburg senior who went missing in the evening on Wednesday July 14 has been located and is safe, police said. A senior alert was issued for 83-year-old John Vincent after he went missing sometime after 5 p.m. July 13, Fredericksburg Police said. Vincent has been located and is safe, officials reported.

14 Fairfax Streets With Confederacy-Related Names Will Soon Be Changed The Fairfax City Council voted to rename 14 local street names that have ties to Confederacy, officials said. DC Firefighter Arrested In Armed Fairfax County Robbery: Report Fairfax County Police arrested a D.C. firefighter after he robbed someone at gunpoint back in May, WTOP reports. Christopher Potts, 27, was charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony on July 8, the outlet said. Potts knew the victim and has been arrested once before. Rabid Raccoon Removed From Behind Arlington Community Center A raccoon that was found behind the Charles Drew Community Center in Arlington last week has tested positive for rabies, officials said. Animal Control officials on July 7 captured the raccoon, who showed symptoms of rabies in the 3400 block of 22nd Street at around 7:30 a.m., Arlington County Animal Control reported. Soon after its capture, the raccoon tested positive for the rabies virus, officials reported. Driver Surrenders In Prince William Head-On Hit-Run Crash: Police A driver wanted in a head-on hit-and-run crash last weekend in Manassas surrendered to authorities. Domingo Cedillo, 26, was headed northbound on Centreville Road in his Chevrolet Express Van when he crossed over the solid yellow line and hit a Nissan Sentra, Prince William County Police said. The collision caused the Nissan to veer into another lane, where it was hit by Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said. Woodbridge Bus Slams Restaurant Sign, 4 Hurt Four people were hurt when a bus slammed into a restaurant sign while swerving in an effort to avoid a car in Virginia, authorities said. The bus was headed Northeast on Potomac Mills Road at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, when a car struck the bus on the driver’s side, transportation officials said.
