Gone Swimming: Virginia Resident Finds Alligator In Backyard Pool (Photos) An alligator that went missing from a local animal show turned up in the backyard pool of a Virginia homeowner last week. Three weeks ago, Animal Control Officers in Chesapeake were made aware of an alligator from Jack's Jungle who had gone missing in the area. The owner did not know if it escaped, was stolen, or was let out of its enclosure. Well, last Friday, July 15, the gator was spotted relaxing at a pool on Taft Road, where his owner met an animal control officer. The Virginia Tech Ph.D. student has a reoccurrence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, which is a cancer in the back of the nose, that has spread throughout his body, his friend Shiva Ghasemi said. Man Kills Himself On Fairfax Parkway: Police An unidentified man died after he shot himself on a roadway in Fairfax County on Tuesday, July 19, police said. The man attempted suicide sometime before 7:20 a.m. at Fairfax County Parkway and Waterline Drive in Burke, the Fairfax County Police said. Fireworks Mistaken For Gunshots Puts Arlington School In Lockdown: Police Washington-Liberty High School was place on lockdown when fireworks were mistaken for gunshots Tuesday, July 19, authorities said. Officers arrived at the school at around 7:50 a.m. and found evidence of fireworks that were set off, Arlington County Police reported. Trio Charged In Targeted Double Attack: Leesburg Police Two juveniles and a man were in police custody in connection with a double attack in Leesburg last week officials said. Marcos Argueta, 18, and two other suspects were charged for their involvement in the double attack in the 0 block of Fort Evans Road. VA Woman Vanishes After Church A massive search was launched for a 35-year-old woman who went missing after leaving church over the weekend. Shanitia Eure-Lewis, was last seen at around 9:30 a.m. outside Gethsemane Baptist Church at 5405 Roanoke Avenue, Virginia State Police said. She was last wearing creme pinstripe shirt and pants and tan flats, police reported. She was described as 5'7, 178 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, officials said. FL Man Spent Days Stalking 16-Year-Old VA Girl He Met On Social Media: Police An Orlando, FL man was arrested on July 16 after he stalked a 16-year-old girl for two days, police said.
