Windows Smashed, Furniture Broken: Spotsylvania Baptist Church Vandalized The Craigs Baptist Church community is reeling after the Spotsylvania church was found vandalized. On August 7, staff posted that they arrived at the church in the morning and saw smashed windows, overturned furniture, and walls splattered with paint. The church said they are working with local police to find the suspect, or suspects, who destroyed their place of worship. Reckless Motorcyclist Killed In Dumfries Three-Vehicle Crash: Police A motorcyclist who caused a three-vehicle accident in Dumfries has died from his injuries, police said.On August 7 at around 11:15 a.m., Jason Whitaker, 46, was riding his motorcycle on Richmond Highway, when he ignored a red light and proceeded into an intersection, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Workplace Shooting Under Investigation In Baltimore; Suspect At Large One person was wounded in a workplace shooting in Baltimore, police said. Police arrived at the MPI Label Systems warehouse in the 1200 block of Bernard Drive on August 5, where they found the victim suffering a gunshot wound, but no suspect was to be found, according to CBS News. Attic Engulfed In Flames Displaces 4 DC Residents: Fire Officials An attic fire has displaced four residents in D.C., officials said.On August 5, fire officials reported to a detached, 2-story home in the 1400 block of Channing Street that had flames coming from the attic, according to D.C. Extreme Heat Causes Dozens To Burn Up During Stafford Public Schools Event The Stafford County Public School system hosted their teacher and staff convocation, but the extreme heat took quite a toll on the participants, according to WUSA9. Video: One Rescued From Bedroom During Virginia House Fire Two of three occupants of a Lincolnia residence escaped a house fire on Friday, August 5, but one individual had to be rescued, officials said. At around 3 a.m., fire officials arrived in 4900 block of Grafton Street to put out a fire on the second floor and rescue the sole occupant who was trapped, according the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. The fire, started by an electrical issue, caused about $9,000 worth of damages, though no one was harmed, authorities said.

Suspect Wanted In Connection To Unarmed Kidnapping, Stolen Vehicle in DC Police are seeking a man who drove a vehicle that did not belong to him with an unknown juvenile inside, D.C. Police said. At around 6:30 p.m. August 4, the suspect stole a car from the Unit Block of Thomas Circle and subsequently, kidnapped a young girl who had been inside the vehicle, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
