She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Know Him? Hospital Officials Attempting To Identify Patient In Westchester Officials at St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers are attempting to find out who a patient is and any family or friends. The patient, who doesn't know who he is, has been at the acute care hospital for five weeks, said Denise C. Mananas, senior director of External & Business Affairs. Because he is well, the hospital is hoping to find his family or friends so he can go home, she added. He has used the names Ramon Rodriguez and Tony DeLeon, but those are not his name. Eight New Officers Join Westchester County Police Department Eight new police officers have been sworn into the ranks of the Westchester County Police. The eight officers have previous police experience and transferred to the Department of Public Safety from three municipal police departments in Westchester, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the department. Man Hits Boss In Face With Shovel During Fight Over Money In Fairfield County A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly attacking his boss with a shovel. Milian Lemus-Perez, 27, of Norwalk, was arrested around 4:45 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, when officers responded to Chestnut Hill Road for a fight, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler. Officers arrived on the scene and found a man with significant facial injuries from being struck with a shovel, Zwickler said. Rockland Teen Nabbed For Illegally Driving Dirt Bike After Fleeing From Police A Rockland County teen was issued nine traffic tickets after he was nabbed driving an unregistered dirt bike. The 16-year-old Airmont teen was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 16, after a Ramapo Police officer spotted the dirt bike being driven on Route 202, said the Ramapo Police. The driver was not wearing a helmet and when the officer attempted to stop the bike, the teen dismounted and fled into the woods, police said. Following a brief foot chase, the officer arrested him. NY State Police Sergeant Rescues Man Trapped In Car For 10 Hours With No Heat During Snowstorm A State Police trooper rescued a man whose car had been buried in the snow for 10 hours. The incident took place on Thursday, Dec. 17, when Sergeant Jason Cawley contacted Tioga County 911 to see if any emergency calls were pending due to the storm, said the New York State Police. Cawley was told they had received a number of 911 calls from a man who had run off the road and needed assistance, but law enforcement in the area had not located the driver. Trailers Full Of 4,000 Pounds Of Bleach, Vegetables Catch Fire In CT Four tractor-trailers packed full of bleach and vegetables were damaged by fire and one firefighter was taken to the hospital at an area truck stop. The fire began around 1:55 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Pilot Travel Center on Old Gate Lane in Milford, said the Milford Fire Department. Man Arrested For DWI/Drugs Following Stop For Headlight Violation In Rockland An Orange County man was arrested for DWI/Drugs after being stopped by police for a headlight violation. The 30-year-old Warwick man was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, after being stopped by a Ramapo Police officer for a headlight violation on Orange Turnpike in the Village of Sloatsburg. 12-Year-Old Girl Killed, Boy Injured In Shooting At Area Home, State Police Say A 12-year-old girl was killed and a 9-year-old boy injured during a shooting at an Ulster County multi-family home. The incident was uncovered around 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, when members of the Kingston Police responded to a reported shooting at the rear apartment of 60 Van Buren Street, in Kingston, said the Kingston Police Department.
