Man Nabbed For Stealing, Cashing More Than $4K In Checks, Fairfield Police Say An area man has been arrested for allegedly stealing and altering five business checks which he cashed. Jon-Michael Young, age 41, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 18, for the theft which took place in May 2019, said Fairfield Police Lt. Tony Granata. According to Granata, in May 2019, a Fairfield business owner reported to police that five of his business checks have been fraudulently altered and cashed. Two Bodies Found Inside Fairfield County Home Police are awaiting autopsy results after two people were found dead inside a Fairfield County home. The bodies were found around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30 inside the home on Calhoun Avenue, in Bridgeport, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management for Bridgeport. When police arrived on the scene, AMR personnel pronounced both parties dead at the scene, Appleby said. Police are waiting on the autopsies to determine the cause of death. Man Struck, Killed By Lirr Train A man was killed after being struck by a train on the Long Island Railroad. The incident took place around 5:52 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 31 in Suffolk County, when the 4:41 train from Southampton due at Penn Station at 7:02 a.m. struck an "authorized person" on the tracks west of Sayville, said an MTA spokesperson. Bank Robber Nabbed Shortly After Heist At Long Island Chase Branch A Long Island man has been arrested for an alleged bank robbery, the fourth in the span of a week. Darren Lindo, 36, of Roslyn Heights, was arrested following the robbery around 9:25 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Chase Bank, located at 425 Glen Cove Road in Roslyn Heights, said the Nassau County Police.
