Woman Hit, Killed By Amtrak Train In Connecticut A 22-year-old Connecticut woman was hit and killed by an Amtrak train while allegedly "trespassing" on the tracks. Alexandra Trippodo, of Branford, was hit and killed around 1:10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13 when she was hit on the tracks east of New Haven, said Beth Toll, a spokeswoman for Amtrak. According to Toll, Trippodo was hit by Amtrak Acela train 2248 on its way from Washington, D.C. to Boston, just east of the New Haven station.  There were no reported injuries to the 137 passengers on board or crew members, she said. Man On Run Nabbed On Long Island For Sexual Assault Of A Child, Police Say A 37-year-old man who was on the run for allegedly sexually assaulting a child under 13 was nabbed on Long Island by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau. The incident took place around 5:50 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 14, at the Thruway Shopping Center at 1233 E. Putnam Ave., in Greenwich, said Greenwich Police Captain Mark E. Man Nabbed For Robbery At Long Island Smoke Shop, Police Say A 24-year-old man was arrested for an alleged robbery at a Long Island smoke shop that injured two employees. Ali Saif, of Queens, was arrested around 6:18 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 10, for the incident at Laxmi Smoke and Vape Shop in Massapequa, said the Nassau County Police. Man Who Assaulted Victim Nabbed In Area, Police Say A 34-year-old man was arrested by state police after allegedly assaulting another person. Orange County resident William S. Kleiber, of Monroe, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 10 by New York State Police for the domestic incident which took place on Saturday, Feb. 6, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
