State Police Warn Of Uptick Of Vehicle Larcenies, Thefts From Gas Stations New York State Police are again reminding motorists to lock their vehicles and to remove all valuables after a stolen vehicle was used in two larcenies. Man Accused Of Attacking Roommate With Utility Knife On Long Island A 59-year-old man was arrested on Long Island for allegedly cutting his roommate with a utility knife during an argument over money. Angel Ocevedo, age 59, was arrested around 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22 by Nassau County Police in Inwood. According to detectives, a 31-year-old man called 911 to report a disturbance with a weapon on Doughty Boulevard. The victim told police he had a verbal dispute with his roommate over money. Pregnant Woman Who Lost Child Charged With DWI Following Crash In Fairfield County A Fairfield County woman, who was 8 months pregnant, has been charged with DWI and other charges following a crash. Karen Chavez-Euceda, age 36, of Stamford, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 20, for the incident which took place on Saturday, June 13, said Sgt. Area Man Killed After Hitting Parked Vehicle A Connecticut man has died after hitting an unoccupied parked vehicle, closing two roadways. Mark Thibault, age 36, of Milford, was killed around 6:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 22, in the area of E Broadway and Surf Avenue in Milford, the Milford Police said. According to police, Thibault was traveling eastbound on E Broadway when he struck another vehicle parked on E Broadway. Man Crashes SUV After Taking Two Police Agencies On Pursuit In Northern Westchester A man was injured following a pursuit with Westchester County Police and New York State Police after crashing the SUV and fleeing from officers. Fairfield County Man Jumps From Bridge Fleeing Police After Crashing Stolen Vehicle On I-95 A Fairfield County man was arrested after jumping off the Q Bridge on I-95 while fleeing from following a vehicle crash in an alleged stolen vehicle. Abdulrahim Sulaiman, age 34, of Fairfield, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 20, after Connecticut State Police responded to a one-vehicle crash on the northbound side of the Q Bridge on I-95 in New Haven, said the Connecticut State Police. Two Shot In Broad Daylight During Dispute In Westchester Two people were wounded during a shooting in Westchester. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 21 in Yonkers. One suspect and another man were standing on Palisade Avenue and having words with a group of people, said Det. Lt. Dean Politopoulos of the Yonkers Police. At some point during the argument, two people were shot, both victims received non-life-threatening injuries, Politopoulos said. The shooting is currently under investigation, he added. Man Who Lost Leg Hailed As Hero For Helping Stranded Driver On Merritt Parkway A Fairfield County man is being hailed a hero after losing his leg while stopped to help a stranded driver and was hit by a vehicle. The crash took place around 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 4, on the Merritt Parkway in Greenwich, said the Connecticut State Police.
