Federal and state officials are warning consumers to be vigilant when using “peer to peer” apps like CashApp, Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle to avoid losing money, giving out valuable personal information, or being victimized by scammers.

And these days foodies and Yelpers are heading to a small Rockland County spot in Pearl River that not only offers dogs of all kinds, but also a 25-item salad bar.
The spot, the Hot Dog Express, at 184 Brightwood Ave., in Pearl River, is known for their great prices as much as for their yummy, mouth-watering dogs.
Some Yelpers said they found Hot Dog Express by spotting a sandwich board along the road and decided to give it a try.

Fairfield Man Nabbed With Loaded Magazine, Drugs After Fleeing Traffic Stop, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly running from police during a motor vehicle stop and for having a loaded firearm magazine.
The incident took place around 2:24 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, when Bridgeport Police attempted a vehicle stop of Christopher Serrano, of Bridgeport, for not having a registration, said Scott Appleby, director of emergency management.
After getting out of the vehicle, Serrano allegedly began to run away from officers while clutching his waistband. During the brief foot pursuit, two objects fell from his pants, Appleby said.

Motorist Killed After Car Crashes Into Multiple Telephone Poles On Long Island Roadway
A Long Island man was killed during a single-vehicle crash in which the car hit multiple utility poles.
The crash took place around 9:15 a.m., Friday, March 5, in Herricks, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, a 2008 Chevy Impala traveling eastbound on Hillside Avenue left the roadway, struck multiple utility poles, and came to a stop near Devonshire Drive.
The victim, a 75-year-old resident of the Village of Bellerose in Nassau County, was pronounced dead at the scene.
