She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Woman Sues Haverstraw, County For $5 Million Over Fall, Injury ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 65-year-old Village of Haverstraw resident is suing the village and Rockland County for $5 million after saying she fell and fractured her left knee in a construction area that was not marked. Gloria Galindo-Zepeda, who has lived in the village for 15 years, fell on Sept. 25 while crossing the street at Broadway and Lincoln Street and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment, said her attorney Michael Levitz. Jeanne Vitale Of Westchester, 53, Dies After Battling Multiple Sclerosis Jeanne Schmitt Vitale, 53, of Somers, died on Tuesday, Oct. 17, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Vitale was born on Sept. 10, 1964, to George and Anne (Murphy) Schmitt in White Plains, and grew up in Mahopac, as the oldest of seven children. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in her early 20s and moved to Colorado, where she got married and raised her children. She worked as a nail technician in Denver until the disease hampered her fine motor skills too much to continue working. It didn't stop her, though. Orangetown Completes $7.5M Sale Of Town-Owned 60-Acre Property ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Orangetown and JP Morgan Chase finalized the long-awaited sale of 60 acres of town-owned land at the Rockland Psychiatric Center for construction of a data center on Wednesday, said town officials. Longtime Ossining Firefighter Dies After Battling Cancer Steve Bingell, a longtime member of the Ossining Fire Department died on Thursday, Oct. 19 after a battle with cancer. Bingell grew up in Ossining and leaves behind his wife Bonnie, two daughters Sharon and Jackie, two stepchildren, Amy and Peter, and a number of grandchildren.
