Man Violates Stay-Away Order In Tomkins Cove Domestic Incident, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  A man landed in jail after violating a stay-away order of protection in Stony Point. Cristian Vasquez, 35, was arrested after Stony Point police responded to the area of Prospect Place in Tomkins Cove for a report of people yelling and found Vasquez and a woman involved in a domestic dispute on Friday, Oct. 6, said Lt. Daniel Hylas. During the dispute, police discovered that Vasquez, who police say was homeless, was violating an order of protection.  Vasquez was remanded to the Rockland County Jail on $500 bail. He is due to appear in court on Dec. 17.

Kent Man Used Improvised Explosive Device Against Ex-Girlfriend, Police Say PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. --  A Kent man is behind bars after his DNA was found on an explosive device planted on top of his ex-girlfriend's vehicle. The incident began on March 5, when a Lake Carmel woman called Town of Kent Police to report an issue with her vehicle. When officers arrived they found screws thrown around the woman's driveway and what appeared to be an improvised explosive device (IED) on top of her vehicle, said Chief Alex DiVernieri. Spring Valley Bicyclist Struck By Van ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  A Spring Valley bicyclist was injured after being struck by a car Tuesday night on Chestnut Ridge Road, Ramapo police said. The unidentified 40-year-old bicyclist was struck about 6:35 p.m. near Alpine  Court, by a 38-year-old Chestnut Ridge man who was driving a 2004 Honda Odyssey, said Lt. Kevin Lee. Teen Caught Stealing Beer At 7-Eleven In Stony Point, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Stony Point teen was charged with possession of stolen property after being caught ripping off beer from a local 7-Eleven store, police said. Wilton Rodriguez, 19, was caught around 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20 for stealing the beer from the store on South Liberty Drive, said Lt. Daniel Hylas of the Stony Point Police. Rodriguez was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. He was processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable to court on Nov. 21.
