Man Caught Trying To Get Into Cash Register At Stony Point Store ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  A 20-year-old man was arrested on a warrant by Stony Point Police for trying to steal money from a cash register at a local business, police said. Caleb Coyne, of Garnerville, was arrested at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, on the warrant charging him in an incident where he walked behind the counter at the Tractor Supply store on South Liberty Drive and attempted to get inside the cash register, said Lt. Daniel Hylas of the Stony Point Police. Coyne was processed and released on $500 cash bail with an order to reappear in Stony Point Court on Dec. 7.

Bird's The Word: Police Rescue Injured Hawk In New City Clarkstown Police came to the aid Wednesday of an injured hawk instead of a local resident in need after receiving a call regarding a bird in distress. The hawk. who was sitting on Phillips Hill Road in New City, was rescued by Officer Robert McDermott and animal control Officer Patricia Coleman and taken to the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital. The pole came down around noon Wednesday, hitting a dump truck working in the area milling and repaving roads near Heathcote Road and Palmer Avenue.
