Woman Busted With Amphetamines In Putnam Traffic Stop PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- An 18-year-old woman was arrested by Kent Police after she was stopped for a traffic infraction and officers discovered she was in possession of amphetamines. Lindsey Quezada, of Kent, was stopped around 10 p.m. Nov. 20, by Officer Dan Huestis on West Lakeshore Drive for a traffic infraction, said Kent Police Chief Alex DiVernieri. During the stop, the officer discovered Quezada was in possession of amphetamines, he said. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 6.

Erratic Route 52 Driver Charged With DWI In Putnam, Police Say PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Kent Police nailed a Wappingers Falls man for felony DWI after he was stopped for driving erratically on Sunday on Route 52. Anthony Ginese, 37, was stopped around 11:15 a.m. by Sgt. Alex VanderWoude observed him driving erratically and determined that he was under the influence, said Kent Police Chief Alex DiVernieri. Ginese was arraigned by Town Justice Kevin Douchkoff and is being held without bail at the Putnam County Jail.

Man Caught After Stealing Items From Car In Stony Point, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Stony Point man was arrested Thursday after breaking into a resident's car and then hiding from officers, police said. Daniel Monahan, 20, was arrested around 4:20 a.m. after a resident of Lewis Drive called police reporting she saw someone inside her vehicle parked in her driveway and that her husband was chasing the person on foot, said Stony Point Lt. Three-Time Felon Caught With Fake Gun In Hyde Park, Police Say A Hyde Park man on parole and a three-time felon was busted for having a fake gun during a traffic stop in the Town of Lloyd. Julio A. Suarez, 31, was caught with the "very realistic" gun that fires blanks when the driver of the car he was a passenger in was arrested for heroin on Sunday, said Town of Lloyd Police Lt. James Janso. Suarez was charged with felony possession of a weapon, criminal impersonation, and obstructing governmental administration, Janso said. He was arraigned in the Town of Plattekill Court and was remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.

Poughkeepsie Apartment Fire Displaces Five Five people are homeless following an apartment house fire on Mansion Steet in the City of Poughkeepsie, that also housed a daycare center. The two-alarm fire, which began around 10:31 a.m., Friday, at 232 Mansion St., began in the basement of the building and spread up to the first and second floors through "balloon-type" walls, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Mark Johnson. Beacon House Fire Displaces Two Residents, Family Dog The Red Cross is assisting two residents and a family dog after they were displaced from their home following an intense fire on Elm Street in Beacon. Firefighters responded to the fire around 7:12 p.m., Monday, at 5 N. Elm St., after receiving a call from the Dutchess County 911 Center, the department said in a press statement.
