Scott Weston Kiernan, who grew up in Greenwich, died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 4 in Clermont, Florida. A cause of death was not released. A former Syracuse football offensive lineman, Kiernan, was well known as the player who co-captained the 1998 Big East champions, before moving on to play for the NFL, first with the New York Giants and the Carolina Panthers. The crash, which occurred around 12:15 p.m. Thursday on Route 9 at Liss Road, was a chain reaction with the first car rear-ending the second, followed by two others who couldn't stop in time, said Trooper AJ Hicks.  No one was injured and two vehicles were towed from the scene.

Motorists experienced delays on both I-287 and I-87 in Tarrytown due to a crash involving a New York State Thruway Authority truck.  The crash, which occurred around 12:15 p.m. Thursday, initially resulted in one lane being closed where the two roadways meet, according to the New York State Police. Hyde Park Man Arrested For Stealing $30K From Employer A Hyde Park man is behind bars without bail after being arrested for stealing more than $30,000 from a Poughkeepsie business. Dennis C. Morgan was arrested Thursday, Jan. 11, following an investigation by the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department after receiving a complaint from a local business of missing funds, said Capt.
