Beacon Man Strangles Victim, Steals Cell Phone In Domestic Dispute A Beacon man is behind bars after being charged with a host of domestic violence charges including assaulting and strangling the victim, according to the New York State Police. Daniel J. Statini, 27, was arrested Monday, Jan. 8, for a domestic dispute that took place on Jan. 3, on Glenwood Drive in Beacon, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Police Locate Missing 12-Year-Old Hudson Valley Boy A Hudson Valley boy who was missing for a day has been located by police in a hospital waiting room. Jordan Acres, 12, of Kingston went missing about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was last seen near the Boys & Girls Club, said Kingston Police. Police found the boy about 24 hours later at the Kingston Hospital waiting room trying to stay warm, said Det. Lt. Thierry Croizer. "He wanted to spend time with friends and then looked for a warm spot to stay," Croizer said. The boy was afraid he would get in trouble, and wasn't a runaway, police said.

Firefighters Make Quite A Rescue On Frozen Pocantico Hills Lake It was quite the afternoon for Sleepy Hollow Fire Chief John Korzelius when he crawled out onto a lake to rescue a deer stranded on a frozen lake in Pocantico Hills. The department received the call about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday about a wobbly deer who was slipping and sliding on the ice trying to get to back to land.
