Man Charged In One Of Four Overdose Deaths In Orange County Over Weekend An area man has been arrested for selling heroin that may have caused the death of a Maybrook woman, one of four people to die recently from drug overdoses in Orange County. Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler and Town of Montgomery Police Chief Arnold Amthor announced the arrest of Jay Pagan, 32, of Maybrook on Monday in connection with the overdose death Friday of the 24-year-old woman in the Town of Montgomery. Newburgh Man Violates Order Of Protection, Police Say A Newburg man was charged with violating a protective order during a routine traffic stop by Ulster County deputies on Saturday. Dorean B. McKoy, 21, was charged with felony criminal contempt, driving with suspended registration, and other traffic violations after being stopped on Route 32 around 11:20 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff's department said. During the stop, deputies discovered that an order of protection was in place prohibiting McKoy from being in contact with the passenger in the vehicle, sheriff's officials said. Middletown Man Sent To Prison For Tax Fraud A Middletown man was sentenced to 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years in prison, plus ordered to pay more than $58,000 in restitution for tax fraud, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. Francisco Velez, 43, who was sentenced Monday, pleaded guilty in December 2016 to criminal tax fraud, admitting to the court that he failed to turn over sales and excise taxes due from his Middletown cigar store. Two Nabbed On Drug Possession Charges In Dutchess New York State Police nabbed two men for cocaine possession during a routine traffic stop in Pleasant Valley. Tyler J. Bugbee, 22, and Adam J. Cardella, 21, of Lloyd, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance on Saturday. Cardella was also arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. The two were stopped around 9:34 p.m., in a 2005 BMW for an infraction of the vehicle and traffic law on Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley. Greenwich Man Faces Harassment Charge A Greenwich man was arrested for harassment stemming from two incidents last year, according to Greenwich Police. Aldair Garcia, 21, of Weaver Street, was picked up Saturday on a warrant for two incidents of harassing another person from July to December, police said. He was charged with one count of harassment. Garcia was released from custody after posting a $25,000 bond.

Range Rover, Mercedes Stolen From Driveway At Greenwich Residence Greenwich police are reminding residents once again to lock their vehicles and remove valuables after two vehicles were stolen from the same residence in one night. On Friday, a North Street resident reported a 2017 silver Range Rover and a 2017 black Mercedes-Benz were taken from the home, said Lt. John Slusarz. Both vehicles were unlocked and had the keys inside, he added. "Car thefts are continuing in the area and residents should make sure to remove the keys," he added. Ramapo Police On Scene Of Numerous Crashes Police in Rockland are warning motorists to stay off the roads if possible due to slick driving conditions and numerous vehicle crashes being reported. At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Ramapo officials said they were on the scene of so many crashes, mostly minor, that they couldn't count the number. The crash pictured took place around 8 a.m. in the New Hempstead area of the town. Police are asking drivers to leave plenty of room between the vehicle in front, so there is no need to swerve or jam on the brakes with the slippery conditions.

Congers Woman Charged In Hit-Run Death Of New City Man A 48-year-old Congers woman has been charged in the hit-and-run death of a New City man late last month, according to the Clarkstown Police Department. Jodi Sarf, turned herself into the police Monday after a warrant was issued for her arrest following a lengthy investigation into the Dec. 19 incident that resulted in the death of Manuel Aguaiza, 40, said Clarkstown Officer Peter Walker. Westport Library Employee Possessed Child Porn, Police Say A Westport Library employee wanted on a warrant for child porn charges, turned himself to police, according to the Westport Police Department. Robert Kelly, 43, turned himself over to police Monday after a warrant was issued last week following an intensive investigation conducted by state and local police in which numerous child porn photos were found on his computer and other electronic devices, said Lt. Seen Him? State Police Asking For Help Identifying 'Skimmer' Thief State police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects who installed an ATM "skimming" device at the TEG Federal Credit Union on Route 9 in the town of Wappinger. The device, which attaches to credit card readers steals the user's banking information, was reported on Jan. 13, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks. Although police do not know what type of device was used, Hicks said newer skimmers have a blue-tooth capability that can be read from a distance.
