Newburgh Man Violates Order Of Protection, Police Say A Newburg man was charged with violating a protective order during a routine traffic stop by Ulster County deputies on Saturday. Dorean B. Middletown Man Sent To Prison For Tax Fraud A Middletown man was sentenced to 1 1/2 to 4 1/2 years in prison, plus ordered to pay more than $58,000 in restitution for tax fraud, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler. Francisco Velez, 43, who was sentenced Monday, pleaded guilty in December 2016 to criminal tax fraud, admitting to the court that he failed to turn over sales and excise taxes due from his Middletown cigar store. Two Nabbed On Drug Possession Charges In Dutchess New York State Police nabbed two men for cocaine possession during a routine traffic stop in Pleasant Valley. Tyler J. Bugbee, 22, and Adam J. Cardella, 21, of Lloyd, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance on Saturday. Cardella was also arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. Greenwich Man Faces Harassment Charge A Greenwich man was arrested for harassment stemming from two incidents last year, according to Greenwich Police. Aldair Garcia, 21, of Weaver Street, was picked up Saturday on a warrant for two incidents of harassing another person from July to December, police said. He was charged with one count of harassment.  Garcia was released from custody after posting a $25,000 bond.

Ramapo Police On Scene Of Numerous Crashes Police in Rockland are warning motorists to stay off the roads if possible due to slick driving conditions and numerous vehicle crashes being reported. At 9 a.m. Tuesday, Ramapo officials said they were on the scene of so many crashes, mostly minor, that they couldn't count the number. The crash pictured took place around 8 a.m. in the New Hempstead area of the town.  Police are asking drivers to leave plenty of room between the vehicle in front, so there is no need to swerve or jam on the brakes with the slippery conditions.

State Police Asking For Help Identifying 'Skimmer' Thief State police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects who installed an ATM "skimming" device at the TEG Federal Credit Union on Route 9 in the town of Wappinger. The device, which attaches to credit card readers steals the user's banking information, was reported on Jan. 13, according to Trooper A.J. Hicks.
