Golden Locks: Northern Westchester Barbershop Marks 50th Year
When it comes to traditional barbershops, only two things have changed at the Buchanan Barbershop since it opened its doors in 1968 — the prices and the fact that women can now get haircuts there.
Originally located across the street, the shop, also known as Phil's Barbershop, moved to its present location on White Street, when the original barbershop was torn down to create a park, said the owner, Mark Young.

Northern Westchester Boy, 6, Dies After Battle With Brain Cancer
Lucas Harashima of Pound Ridge died Wednesday surrounded by his family following a battle with DIPG, an aggressive brain tumor DIPG, an aggressive brain tumor that has no known cause or cure. He was 6 years old.
Lucas, who fought bravely for 18 months, inspired all who knew him. The son of Sansan and Hide, Harashima, and brother to Kai, he always offered plenty of joy, smiles, and mischief.

Former Fairfield County Man Shot, Killed In Police Shootout
A former Stamford man who survived being shot in the chest, abdomen, and legs in July 2016, was shot and killed Thursday by Nassau County Sheriff's deputies in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
According to sheriff's officials, the department received a 911 call right before midnight from Jason Raffaeli, 25, who lived at the Amelia Island Surf and Racquet Club Condominiums, saying there were three armed men inside his apartment.

Seen Him? Alert Issued For Missing Hudson Valley Man
Police are asking the public for help in locating an area man who hasn't been seen or heard from since Monday.
Patrick Vidal, 54, was reported missing on Tuesday after he did not report to work and was unable to be located by family and friends, said City of Poughkeepsie Police.
Vidal, who may be suicidal, is described as being a black male, 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, and was last seen Monday at 4 p.m. when he left work, police added.
