Suspect In Southbury Police Standoff Struck Trooper, Police Say A man who held police at bay for more than 14 hours was arrested after striking a Connecticut State Trooper while surrendering to police. During a search of his home, troopers found numerous weapons. The incident began around 2 a.m. Monday when state police, along with Southbury officers, responded to a domestic violence call at the home of Joseph Michael Stotz, 38, of Southbury, said Trooper Kelly Grant. Hillcrest Woman Seriously Injured In Route 45 Crash This story has been updated. A two-vehicle crash that closed Route 45 for several hours injured a 67-year-old Hillcrest woman. The crash happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Route 45 just north of New Hempstead Road when a 31-year-old Haverstraw man driving a 1997 Ford Econoline work van crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 2010 Toyota Corolla, said Ramapo Police. Suspect Nabbed In Homicide Of 19-Year-Old In Hudson Valley This story has been updated. Police have identified the person shot to death by a 19-year-old man Sunday in a Hudson Valley apartment complex. Lawrence Burns, 19, of Brooklyn, was found dead around 3:37 a.m. Sunday, by members of the Village of Monticello Police Department and New York State Police, while responding to a 911 call reporting a body on the ground, said Monticello Police Lt. Police Chase Down Four After Home Burglary Attempt In Fairfield County Four Stratford residents were arrested after police managed to chase them down following a home burglary attempt, according to Stratford Police. Daryl Qu Johnson, aka, Daryl Qu Maise, 53, and Heath S. Stamford Man Busted With 180 Bags Of Heroin Following Investigation A Stamford man was nabbed with 180 bags of heroin following a weeks-long investigation by the city's Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad. Capt. Richard Conklin said Paul Dushi, 25, was arrested around 1 p.m. Friday following an investigation into information that he was selling heroin in the Glenbrook-Springdale neighborhoods. 11-Year-Old Hit By Car Near School Bus Stop In Stamford A Stamford boy was hit by a car near his school bus stop after he ran into traffic, according to Stamford Police. Sgt. Joseph Jarrett said the initial investigation shows the 11-year-old boy was hit at the corner of Daskam Place and Glenbrook Road. The boy, who was not in a crosswalk, was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, police said. The driver remained on scene. The case remains under investigation.

Six Ducklings Rescued After Being Stuck In Storm Drain Near Compo Point Westport firefighters were busy Saturday saving six ducklings from a storm drain. The department received a call about the ducklings and headed to Compo Road South to rescue the little guys. Westport Animal Control also responded to the scene. Working together, the two agencies managed to rescue all six ducklings. A mother was not spotted in the area.

Girl Caught Bringing Loaded BB Gun To School In Fairfield County A Fairfield County student was arrested after police found she had brought a loaded BB gun to school, according to the Shelton Police. Destiny Ryan, 18, was arrested early Monday after the Shelton Police Department responded to Shelton High School for a report of a student with a handgun, said Detective Richard Bango.
