I-84 Reopens After Fatal Crash Click here for an updated story: ID Released For Man Killed In Crash That Shut Down I-84 For More Than 10 Hours At least one person was killed in an early morning crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer and a car that shut down a stretch of I-84 for hours on Monday. The closure occurred on eastbound I-84 at Exit 17 (Ludingtonville Road/Route 43) in Kent. Man Nabbed With Large-Caliber Illegal Gun In Stamford A 39-year-old Northern Westchester man was busted with a large-caliber handgun after police received a tip he would be in the area with the weapon. The bust took place around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after members of the Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime squad received word that Fransico Ferro of Thornwood would be in the area of Knickerbocker Avenue with the weapon, said Capt. Winning $1M Powerball Ticket Sold In Area Still Unclaimed Lottery officials are asking players to check their tickets to see if they are the lucky winner of a winning $1 million Powerball ticket purchased in May before it expires next month. Graffiti Vandal, 29, Caught On Video By Neighbor Nabbed By South Nyack-Grand View PD A 29-year-old man who was caught on videotape by a neighbor painting graffiti has been arrested. Daniel Cohan of South Nyack was arrested Friday following a police investigation by the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department, said Chief Daniel Smith. According to Smith, Cohan was caught defacing a stop sign on Wednesday and a neighbor videotaped him in the act. When Smith realized he was caught, he then began trying to wipe off the graffiti before leaving in his car. Police Arrest Woman For Fleeing After Hitting Pedestrian In Parking Lot A 33-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant for allegedly hitting a pedestrian in a parking lot and then feeling the area. Seemal Chaudry of Monroe was arrested Thursday by Milford Police for the incident which took place on June 27 in the ShopRite parking lot on Boston Post Road, said Milford Police. During the incident, police said Chaudry hit a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart in the parking lot with her vehicle and fled the scene. Suspected Drug Dealer Caught With 54 Envelopes Of Heroin In Stamford, Police Say A 42-year-old man was nabbed with a stash of heroin after Narc squad agents were tipped off to a potential drug deal. Shakee Galberth of Bridgeport was arrested around 1 p.m. Wednesday after members of the Stamford Narcotics and Organized Crime unit received a tip that a large, bald, black man would be in the area of the Red Carpet Inn on Main Street for a deal, said Stamford Police Capt. Stop For Brake Light Out On Vehicle Leads To DUI Charge For Man In Greenwich A 48-year-old man ended up in handcuffs after a non-functioning brake light led to his arrest for alleged drunk driving in Greenwich. Jeffrey McCarroll, of Broad Brook, Connecticut was arrested on Thursday after Greenwich Police officers spotted him driving on West Putnam Avenue with a brake light out, said Greenwich Lt. New West Nile Cases Detected In Norwalk, Stamford, Danbury Public health officials announced five more Connecticut residents have tested positive for West Nile Virus, including three in Fairfield County. The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) said Thursday that the new cases bring the total number of residents infected statewide to 15. Three of these cases involved residents in Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford, the department said. The fourth patient is a resident of Thompson in Windham County and the fifth is from Westbrook in Middlesex County. Teen Driving Audi Apprehended After I-91 Chase Ends In Crash A teen wanted for armed robberies took state police on a chase on I-91 that included slamming into one of the police cruisers before being apprehended. Stony Point Man Points Shotgun At Taxi Driver After Refusing To Pay Fare, Police Say A 30-year-old man was arrested for pointing a shotgun at a taxi driver after refusing to pay for his ride. Christopher Bender, of Stony Point, was arrested around 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, after police responded to a home for a report of a disorderly, intoxicated man having a fight with a cabbie, said Stony Point Police Lt.
