Stamford Restaurant Caught Selling Alcohol Without License Stamford police seized more than 10 cases of beer from a restaurant that was selling alcohol without a permit during an undercover operation. Stamford police had received information regarding liquor being sold at the Rincon Latino at 449 West Main St., without a permit, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin. Agents with the Narcotics and Organized Crime squad investigated the restaurant and found they did not have a liquor license, he said. 26 Firefighters Battle Blaze At Stamford Residence A fire in a multi-unit Stamford residence was confined to a second-floor apartment. The fire started around 2 p.m. Tuesday at 75 Montauk Drive, said the Stamford Fire Department. Twenty-six Stamford firefighters on the first-alarm were able to extinguish the fire and keep it confined to the second-floor apartment within 7 minutes, the department said on Facebook. Man Severely Burned Following Electrocution While Trimming Trees In Montgomery A 33-year-old who was electrocuted while trimming trees has been flown to a special burn unit out of state. The man, who works for Par 5 Landscaping, was trimming trees around 12:41 p.m., Tuesday at 318 Lake View Drive, in the Town of Montgomery when either his tool or the branches touched a live power line, said Montgomery Police Sgt. Jon Vantassel. The man, who was working in a bucket truck, was electrocuted and received severe burns, Vantassel said. Officer Treated In Emergency Room After Assault By Inmate From Westchester At County Jail An inmate at the Westchester County Jail was arrested again after assaulting a corrections officer. The incident took place on Wednesday, Oct. 3, when Christopher McGormen, 36, of Yonkers, was misbehaving in a clinic area and needed to be restrained, said Justin D. One Injured In Overturned SUV Crash In Westchester One person was injured after losing control of his SUV and overturning the vehicle.The incident took place just before noon Tuesday at the corner of Yonkers Avenue and Kimball Avenue, in Yonkers, trapping the driver, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos. Politopoulos said the male driver may have suffered a medical event of some kind before the crash. Police: Man Kicked Out Of Stamford House By Woman Threatens To Kill Her, Returns Through Window Stamford Police officers working extra duty assignments on Hope Street arrested a 24-year-old man Monday after he threatened to kill a woman. Akeem R. Walker of New York City was arrested after Officer Michael Longo, who was working in the area of Hope Street, heard a call for a loud argument taking place at 1181 Hope St., said Stamford Police. Overturned Vehicle Crash Causes Delays On I-87 In Orange County This story has been updated. An overturned vehicle crash that initially closed one lane of traffic caused delays on I-87 in Orange County, state police said. The crash took place around 11:38 a.m. Tuesday northbound in Tuxedo Park, said Trooper Michael Costello. The right northbound lane was closed for a short time as the car was removed. One person was injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle. There is no report on the extent of the injuries.

Stratford Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Minor Known To Him A 40-year-old Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor. James Aho of Stratford was arrested Thursday by Naugatuck Police on an active warrant in connection with a sexual assault complaint filed on Aug. 6, Naugatuck police said. An arrest report said Aho is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile victim who is known to him. He was charged with five counts of sexual assault, five counts of illegal contact with a child under 16, four counts of risk of injury to a child and strangulation. He is being held on $300,000 bond.

Reward Offered For Info In Shooting At Northern Westchester Banquet Hall A $2,500 reward is being offered to help identify the person responsible for a shooting during a large event in Northern Westchester County. Although state police are offering little information about the shooting around 2 a.m. Sunday at the Colonial Terrace banquet hall, in Cortlandt, New York Crime Stoppers said one person was shot and is recovering at a local hospital.
