She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Victims Identified After Mercedes Crashes Into Police Cruiser On I-84 Several people injured in a crash on I-84 in Putnam County that also injured two New York State troopers have been identified. The crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 on I-84 in the town of Kent when troopers were conducting a traffic stop of a 2005 Nissan sedan for a traffic violation, said Trooper AJ Hicks. During the stop, a 2006 Mercedes C280, driven by Aleksandr J. Venticinque, age 24, of Danbury, side-swiped the trooper's vehicle and then slammed into the Nissan. Suspect In Beating, Rape Of Fairfield College Student Caught In Mexico After Four-Year Search A four-year hunt for the man accused of beating, strangling and raping a Fairfield college student has ended with his arrest in Mexico. Edibaldo “Eddie” Duran, 29, a Mexican national, was arrested Wednesday by Mexican officials after they received information of his location in the south-central city of Puebla from the U.S. Marshals Service and took Duran into custody. Following his arrest, U.S. Marshal Service took Duran into custody in Mexico, where he was extradited to Connecticut on an outstanding warrant from 2014, said Fairfield Police Lt. Person Of Interest ID'd In 12-Year-Old Bridgeport Boy's Murder Police said they have a person of interest on their radar following the murder of a 12-year-old Bridgeport boy on Tuesday. During a press conference on Wednesday, Bridgeport Chief of Police Armando Perez said there were strong leads in the case and that “Somebody’s going to be in custody very soon." DEA Agent Fires Shot As Wanted Suspect Rams Vehicle In Westchester A federal agent fired a shot at a vehicle after one of the people targeted in a large cocaine bust rammed into the agent's vehicle, pushing it back 10 to 15 feet. Westchester Man Found Asleep In Running Car In Greenwich Charged With DWI A report of a possible drunk driver led to the arrest of a man who police found asleep in his running vehicle. Laudilei Elias, 44, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on Sunday after Greenwich Police received a call about a possible intoxicated driver in the parking lot at 510 East Putnam Ave., said the Greenwich Police. Check Stolen From Mailbox Cashed For $334, Darien Police Say A Darien resident reported to police that a check she had placed in a mailbox had been cashed by someone besides the recipient, costing the victim hundreds of dollars. Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Being Hit By SUV On Route 376 A 47-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a compact SUV in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
