She spent 17 years at Florida Today in Melbourne, Florida as a general assignment reporter, crime reporter, entertainment reporter and restaurant critic. She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. She attended Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Florida.

Police: Man Faces DUI Charge After Running Stop Sign On Compo Beach Road A Milford man was arrested for driving drunk after allegedly running a stop sign.Lawrence Wydan, 22, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 15, 2018, after a Westport police officer observed his vehicle drive through the stop sign at Compo Beach Road and South Compo, said Lt. Jillian Cabana. When the officer stopped the vehicle, Wydan appeared to be under the influence and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside his vehicle, police said. One Charged With Dwai In I-84 Wrong-Way, Head-On Crash This story has been updated. State police have arrested a man for DWAI for driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 84, causing a head-on crash that injured three on Wednesday in Putnam County. Christopher S. Franz, 45, of Broomall, Pennsylvania, was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs, following the crash that took place around 8:20 a.m. Jan. 2 at the I-84 Exit 19 off-ramp onto Route 312 (Southeast), said New York State Trooper AJ Hicks. Woman, Man Accused Of Stealing $7K Worth Handbags From Saks In Greenwich Two people wanted stealing more than $7,000 in handbags from Saks Fifth Avenue in Greenwich were nabbed out of state. Greenwich Police issued warrants for the arrest Yeico Guzman-Fernandez, 18, of New York City; and Mariel Miranda-Guerra, of the same address, following the theft of three handbags from the store with a combined worth of $7,000 on July 31, 2018, said the Greenwich Police. Rabid Raccoon Found In Rockland Police are warning residents that a rabid raccoon was found in the area within the last two weeks. The rabid animal was found off Lake Road in Valley Cottage, Clarkstown Police said. There was no known contact with people or pets, the department said. "We just remind residents to stay away from wild animals," they said on Facebook. If you see an animal that looks sick, call the Clarkstown Police Department at 845-639-5800.

ID Released For Man Shot, Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting In Danbury This story has been updated. A man familiar to police was fatally shot and killed by a Danbury officer at an area senior housing complex has been identified. Paul Arbitelle was the man shot and killed in after pulling a knife on officers, according to state police. His last known address was on Coal Pit Road in Danbury. Suspicious Package Leads To Emergency Response In Westport A call regarding a suspicious package emitting a foul odor sent Westport police officers and firefighters to a Riverside Avenue address to investigate the situation. Man Stabbed During Altercation At Apartment Parking Lot In Northern Westchester, Police Say A man was seriously wounded after being stabbed during a fight over a parking space in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, in the parking lot of Cortlandt Ridge Apartments (formerly Claremont Gardens), in Ossining, Ossining Police said on Facebook. Man Killed After Car Crashes Into Tree A 68-year-old man killed during a single-vehicle crash has been identified. Alfredo Torres-Trinidad of Middletown was killed around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1 in a crash in Orange County, said New York State Police.
