Home Destroyed In Trumbull Fire An early morning fire on the second floor of a Trumbull home left the residence "unlivable." The Trumbull Fire Department responded to the fire around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at 14 Chatham Drive, the department said. The first firefighters on the scene confirmed an active fire on the second floor of the single family residential structure. Residents were safely evacuated as firefighters from Trumbull Center, Nichols and Long Hill Fire departments responded to the scene and attacked the blaze. Former Patient Arrested For Sexual Assaulting Another In Southport, Police Say A former patient at a convalescent home has been arrested for the allegedly sexually assaulting another elderly non-communicative patient at the home in Southport. Suspect In Custody After Two Fatally Stabbed In Eastern CT One person has been arrested after the deaths of two individuals found at a home in eastern Connecticut early Monday, Jan. 28. Montville police responded around 4:42 a.m. Monday to a home on Morgan Street for a report of two deceased individuals, said Connecticut State Police. Suspect Apprehended After Man Shot Dead In Front Of Gas Station In Bridgeport Bridgeport police were able to quickly make an arrest in the shooting death of a 50-year-old man found dead in front of a gas station. Jayvell Washington, 39, of Bridgeport was arrested around 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, just hours after the man was found shot to death in front of a Citgo gas station around 9 a.m. Sunday at 915 Reservoir Ave., Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department. Greenwich Woman Caught Shoplifting $130 In Items From CVS, Police Say A 59-year-old Bridgeport woman was arrested after allegedly ripping off $130 in goods from a local CVS store. Vanessa Jackson was arrested on Tuesday around 10:25 a.m. after Greenwich police officers responded to the CVS store on West Putnam Avenue for a report of larceny, Greenwich Police said. An investigation revealed that Jackson took several food items valued at $130 from the store without paying for them, police added. She was charged with larceny and released on a promise to appear ticket. She is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6.

Roof Collapses At Future Site Of Restaurant In Northern Westchester A roof collapse due to heavy rains has put the brakes on the construction of a new Italian restaurant at the Peekskill train station. Suspect On Loose After Chase Bank Robbery In Pomona Shopping Center Ramapo Police are working jointly with the FBI to investigate a robbery at the Chase Bank in Pomona. The incident took place Thursday afternoon, Jan. 24 around 5 p.m., at the bank located in the Pacesetter Shopping Center on Route 202. Ramapo police are not releasing any information except to say the center is open and businesses are accessible except the Chase Bank. The Chase ATM is available, police said.
