Woman Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle In New City Parking Lot A 73-year-old New Hempstead woman was struck and killed in a parking lot in New City, said police. The incident happened around 2:19 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 484 New Hempstead Road when the woman was struck by a vehicle after leaving a program she attended at that location, according to Ramapo Police. Worker Electrocuted Trimming Trees In Area, Police Say A worker was electrocuted trimming trees while in a bucket lift in the Town of Newburgh. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, when the man, using a pole-saw in the bucket lift about 25-feet above the roadway, made contact with live power lines at the corner of Babes Lane and Lattintown Road, said Town of New Police Department Lt. 15-Year-Old Shot, Killed In Central Islip, Police Say A 15-year-old was shot and killed overnight on Long Island. It happened at around 3:45 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7, Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives said. Four teens were in the woods outside 142 East Suffolk Ave. when they were approached by two teens, police said. The teens fled, but the 15-year-old was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related. Westbound Suffolk Avenue is closed from Dovecote Lane to Lowell Avenue for the investigation. This is a developing story.
