Stolen Car Found In Pond Off Southern State Parkway, Police Say A car found in North Pond at Hempstead Lake State Park was stolen in Queens, state park police said. The 2019 Chevrolet Suburban was reported submerged in the pond around 5:41 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13 by the Nassau County 911 Center, said the New York State Park Police. Bicyclist Killed In Crash Near Food Mart In Area, Police Say A Town of Poughkeepsie bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Vassar Road. Missing Roofer Located 'Safe And Sound,' Police Say A Stamford man who had been missing for days after leaving a Shippan bar has been located. The Stamford Police Department said Tuesday, Aug. 13, that Mariusz “Marco” Gibas, 37, "had been found safe and sound." Born in 1959 in East Meadow, Kemp later moved to West Islip, where he graduated from West Islip High School. He joined the West Islip Fire Department in 1976, when he was 17-years-old, and rose through the ranks to the rank of chief, which he served as twice, from 1994 to 1996 and again from 1998 until 2000.
