ID Released For Man Shot, Killed During Home Invasion In Area
A 23-year-old man shot and killed during an apparent home invasion in the area has been identified.

Police received a 911 call from the tenant of 107 North Bridge St., that he had shot someone during a robbery attempt, said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
The man told police that two men attempted to rob him at gunpoint in his apartment. He told officers he began fighting with the men, was able to get the gun away from one and shoot him, Clark said.

Divers Recover Body Of Rockland Man Who Jumped Into Greenwood Lake To Save Kids
State Police divers have recovered the body of a man who jumped into Greenwood Lake to save two children.
Greenwood Lake Police said the incident took place Sunday, Aug. 18, when children on a crowded pontoon boat were swimming in the lake with life vests on when two of them began to struggle attempting to get back in the boat around 5 p.m.
One of the people aboard the boat, Dovid Traube, 38, of Chestnut Ridge, jumped into the water to save the kids, Greenwood Lake police said.

'SciGirls' From Ramapo Challenger Center To Speak Live To Space Station Astronauts
Eight girls from across the region will be talking with two people from outer space live on NASA TV when they connect with astronauts on the International Space Station.
The middle school girls, who all participate in the Town of Ramapo's Challenger Center "Sic-Girls in Space" program get the once-in-a-lifetime chance from 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
