One Killed, Another Airlifted In Long Island Crash, Police Say
One person was killed and another airlifted to an area hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Long Island.
The crash, involving a 1995 Mitsubishi took place around 12:48 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Woodmere, said the Nassau County Police.
According to detectives, a 47-year-old man was driving his vehicle southwest in the vicinity 1044 Peninsula Boulevard when he lost control and struck a tree, police said.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead by a Nassau County Police Medic at the scene at 12:53 p.m., police added.

Support Pours In For Family Of Woman Killed With Boyfriend In Area Crash
The community is coming out in force to help the family of a young woman who died along with her boyfriend during a single-vehicle crash in the area.
Orange County resident Alexis Lewis, 20, of Chester, was killed along with her boyfriend, Holmes B. Shindon, 21, of Montgomery, during a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, Nov. 16, on Route 208 in the town of Hamptonburgh.
Since Lewis' death, a GoFundMe page has been created to help pay for her funeral.

Teen Charged In Crash That Killed Two Stamford Residents
A teen has been charged with manslaughter and DUI in connection with a fatal crash that left two teens dead in Fairfield County.
Jerry Diaz, 18, of Stamford, was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 19, in connection with the August crash that killed two teens, said Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.
The crash took place around 2:32 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26, when a 2008 Nissan Altima driven by Diaz, struck two utility polices, knocking down both of them and sending live electrical wires on top of the vehicle on Canal Street, just north of Ludlow Street, said Booth.
