She worked four years at Hometown News as a general assignment reporter, then another two years at Spacecoast Daily in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Two Teen Suspects Nabbed In Westchester School Burglary Two teens were arrested after allegedly breaking into a school and taking more than $1,400 in stolen electronic items. The incident took place around 10 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14 in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson at the Graham School, said Hasting-on-Hudson Police Chief David Dosin. According to the chief, the department received a call from the school reporting staff members had apprehended the two teen who allegedly burglarized Edgewood Cottage. ID Released For 27-Year-Old Killed In Drive-By Long Island Shooting A 27-year-old man shot and killed outside of a Long Island home has been identified. Justin Gottlieb of Plainview was killed during a drive-by shooting around 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, on Margaret Drive East in Plainview, said the Nassau County Police. According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call reporting the shooting and located Gottlieb, who had been shot multiple times. Greenwich Police Asking For Help Locating Dog That Bit Child Police are asking the public for identifying a woman and her dog that bit a Greenwich child who is now facing a series of preventative rabies shots. The incident took on Sunday, Jan. 12 at Binney Park when the dog bit the child, causing minor injuries, said Greenwich Police. The dog is described as being a medium-sized golden retriever with “reddish” fur. Its handler was described as being a white, possible Asian woman in her late 20s, the department said. Carlos De Souza of Milford purchased a Casino Royale scratch-off ticket at Pam’s Variety Store in Bridgeport on Friday, Jan. 10 and was an instant winner, according to CT lottery officials. Man Grazed By Bullet During Shootings Into Two Long Island Homes A man was grazed by a bullet during separate incidents of shootings involving two Long Island homes. The shootings took place around 3 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, in Bay Shore, said the Suffolk County Police. Third Squad detectives reported shots were fired into two homes on Cedar Drive in North Bay Shore. An adult male resident of one of the homes was grazed by a bullet. No arrests have been made at this time. An investigation is underway.

30-Plus Shell Casing Found Following Drive-By Shooting Injuring Woman, Bridgeport Police Say A woman was injured during a drive-by shooting in which some 30 shots were fired. The incident took place around 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the 200 block of Pine Street, said Scott Appleby, director Bridgeport Office of Emergency Management. When police arrived on the scene, they found more than 30 shell casings, Appleby said. The woman was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Strangers Found Drinking Beer In Man's Suffern Apartment Charged With Burglary, Police Say Two men were arrested for alleged burglary after a Suffern resident came home and found the two sitting on his couch drinking beer. The incident took place around 10 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, when the resident of an apartment on Lafayette Avenue came home and found the two men, sitting on the couch and drinking beer, said Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn. Crash Causes Delays On I-684 A crash caused southbound delays of up to seven miles on I-684 at the tail-end of the morning commute. The crash took place southbound around 8 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, near Exit 2 for Route 120 in North Castle, said the New York State Police. The right and center lanes were closed immediately after the crash before the center lane was cleared a short time later. All lanes were reopened by 9:45 a.m., with up to two-mile backups remaining. Drunk Driver Nabbed With Mushrooms, Pot, Police Say A 28-year-old man ended up in handcuffs for DWI after police saw him allegedly run a stop sign, and during a traffic stop found mushrooms and marijuana. Dillon A. Gilbert, of Acra, in Greene County, was arrested around 5:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, after officers saw him run a stop sign on Route 32 in Saugerties, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra said.
