Woman Nabbed With Counterfeit $100 Bills, Greenwich Police Say A 36-year-old woman was nabbed by Greenwich Police for allegedly attempting to purchase items using counterfeit money. Melleisa Alvaranga, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 16, after police responded to a business on Greenwich Avenue for a report of a woman attempting to pass counterfeit money, said the Greenwich Police. When officers arrived on the scene they found Alvaranga who was allegedly in possession of five $100 counterfeit bills, police said. Two Nabbed Attempting To Steal Mail On Long Island, Police Say Two men have been arrested for allegedly stealing mail from a mailbox on Long Beach. The men were caught Wednesday, Jan. 15, trying to remove mail from a box on East Park Avenue and Monroe Boulevard in Long Beach, according to News 12 Long Island. When caught, the men fled in a BMW, crashing into several vehicles, including a police car. Following a crash, the men jumped out of the vehicle and ran down Roosevelt Boulevard before officers were able to capture them. Police said the investigation is continuing.

Stamford Man Arrested On Warrant For DUI Following A Crash, Greenwich Police Say A Stamford man wanted on a warrant for an alleged DUI following a crash turned himself in to police. Chet Quinlan, 37, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 10, turned himself in to Greenwich Police and was charged DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane, said the Greenwich Police. Quinlan was wanted for an incident that took place on July 29, 2019, in which he was allegedly driving under the influence when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree, police said. He was released on a $5,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Jan. 24.
