Three Rescued After Being Stranded On Rocks While Fishing At Area Park Three people out fishing ended up having to be rescued after becoming stranded on rocks when the high tide came roaring in, trapping them. Bridgeport Police received a call for help around 8:39 p.m., Monday, April 20, from the group who were trapped on the rocks in front of the cannon at Seaside Park, said Scott Appleby, director of the Office of Emergency. When police arrived, they found three all standing and in good shape, not wet, said Appleby. The Bridgeport Fire Department was called and using fireboats and Zodiacs brought all three to shore. No one was injured.

Black Bear Not Under Any Stay-Home Order Takes Stroll Down Main Street Just when everyone is inside obeying the Stay Home, Stay Safe, rule, a local bear nicknamed "Dan Berry" came to visit a local main street. According to a post by Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton on Monday, April 20, the bear was spotted on Main Street and New Street Fire House. The bear was spotted and photographed by Danbury City Council President Joe Cavo. No word back from the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection if the bear is tagged or will be relocated.  At least he has plenty of room to roam.

IDs Released For Three Found Dead Inside Area Home Three people found dead inside an area home after police received a request for a welfare check have been identified. The three victims in the Orange County incident - Michael Kenny, 57, Elizabeth Kenny 57, and Alison Miller, 28, all of the Town of Montgomery -were found in a home on Thursday, April 9, after the Town of Montgomery Police responded for the welfare check, said Investigator Steve Ragni. Ragni said that although the investigation is currently ongoing, it appears the three may have died from suspected drug overdoses.
