Covid-19: Orange County Can Resume Elective Surgeries After a halt for months of elective surgeries amid the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced several more counties are now eligible to resume performing surgeries. Fire Breaks Out At Popular Restaurant In Fairfield County A popular area restaurant was saved from destruction after a police officer passing by noticed smoke coming from the roof and called in a fire alarm. The incident took place in Fairfield County around 8:50 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, when a Norwalk Police officer noticed smoke at Valencia Luncheria at 163 Main St., in Norwalk, said Norwalk Fire Assistant Chief Chris King. Police Nab 32-Year-Old With Two Kilos Of Cocaine, 22 Pounds Of Pot In Westchester County A 32-year-old man was nabbed with large quantities of cocaine and marijuana as well as counterfeit prescription pills during a routine traffic stop. The incident began about 5:30 p.m., on Monday, May 11, when a Westchester County Police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Central Park Avenue near the Cross County Parkway in Yonkers. New York State Police in Orange County arrested Javon Roberts, 20, on Monday, May 11, after being notified of the incident at the Goshen Secure Center, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Man Shot In Neck Crashes Vehicle, Police Say One person was shot and another injured during a crash following an altercation. The incident took place in Fairfield County around 9:18 p.m., Sunday, May 10, when Bridgeport Police received a report of a person shot.
