ID Released For Person Killed After Minivan Is Rear-Ended In Westchester, Police Say A 44-year-old man killed during a three-vehicle crash in Westchester has been identified by police. Yong Sheng Yin, 63, of Queens, was killed around 1:22 p.m., Monday, July 13, during the crash in Yonkers, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. According to investigators, the crash occurred when a 2017 Toyota Sienna, driven by Besim Shala, 44, of Brewster, rear-ended a 2010 Honda Odyssey van, operated by Jerry Zang, 57, of Queens, in the right-hand lane. 12-Year-Old Facing Rabies Shots If Dog Who Bit Him Can't Be Found, New Canaan Police Say A young boy is facing rabies shots if animal control officers in Fairfield County can't locate a dog who bit the child at an area park. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m., Monday, July 13, at the Kiwanis Park in New Canaan. According to Halm, the 12-year-old New Canaan boy was bitten by one of two leashed dogs in the park, said New Canaan Police Animal Control Officer Allyson Halm. Wallingford Resident Wins $100,000 Cash Five Prize An area resident took home a cool $100,000 after hitting all the numbers on a Cash 5 lottery ticket. Luis Alicea, of Wallingford, hit the big payout on Sunday, July 12, after matching all five numbers in the game. The winning numbers on the lucky ticket purchased at the Shell Food Mart on North Colony Road in Wallingford were 5-7-9-12-1. Lottery officials said the odds of matching all five numbers on the Cash 5 game are 1 in 324,632. Alicea was the only big winner of the game on Sunday, lottery officials said.

Rats! Rash Of Rodent Sightings Sparking Concerns In Long Island Hamlet Residents of one Long Island hamlet say they are being overrun by rats and are spotting them day and night. It's happening in the hamlet of Plainview in the Town of Oyster Bay where residents are saying their neighborhood is infested with a rash of the rodents and have seen them everywhere, including on a fence line, swimming in a pool, and in yards. Three Dogs Attack Four People, Including Police Officer, In Long Island Neighborhood Three aggressive pit bulls escaped from their yard and attacked at least four people, prompting one police officer to fire shots at the animals.
