ID Released For Person Killed After Minivan Is Rear-Ended In Westchester, Police Say A 63-year-old man killed during a three-vehicle crash in Westchester has been identified by police. Yong Sheng Yin, 63, of Queens, was killed around 1:22 p.m., Monday, July 13, during the crash in Yonkers, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. According to investigators, the crash occurred when a 2017 Toyota Sienna, driven by Besim Shala, 44, of Brewster, rear-ended a 2010 Honda Odyssey van, operated by Jerry Zang, 57, of Queens, in the right-hand lane. Suspect At Large After Man Shot, Killed In Danbury Police are asking the public for help following the shooting death of a man over the weekend in Northern Fairfield County. According to Danbury Police, the shooting took place in Fairfield County around 10:35 p.m., Sunday, July 12, in the area of Beaver Street and Elm Street, said Detective Lt. Mark Williams. Three Dogs Attack Four People, Including Police Officer, In Long Island Neighborhood Three aggressive pit bulls escaped from their yard and attacked at least four people, prompting one police officer to fire shots at the animals. According to Suffolk County Police, the incident began around 7:22 p.m., Monday, July 13, when officers responded to a home in North Babylon regarding the attacking dogs. Woman Killed In Hit-Run Suffolk County Crash An 87-year-old Long Island woman was killed after being hit by a hit-and-run driver. Suffolk County resident Elaine Schwartz, of Greenport, was killed around 7:20 a.m., Monday, July 13, on Front Street in Greenport, said the Southold Police. According to Lt. New York State Police said the incident took place around 2 p.m., on Monday, July 13, in Yonkers. Warning Issued For Area Residents After Rabid Fox Captured Health officials are warning residents that a fox captured in the area has tested positive for rabies. The fox, captured in Dutchess County on Wednesday, July 9, on Anderson Road in Dover, tested positive on Friday, according to the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health. Covid-19: Popular Northern Westchester Pub Closes Most local foodies and beer and burger fans have probably already noticed that a popular Northern Westchester pub has closed its doors for good. The Somers Pub, located at 152 Route 202, in Lincolndale is the latest favorite spot to close following the financial stresses during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The pub, known for its great burgers, yummy seafood, and fun atmosphere, permanently closed in May. Two Firefighters Injured During Boat Fire At Long Island Marina Two firefighters received minor injuries during a boat fire at a marina on Long Island. The incident took place in Suffolk County around 4 p.m., Sunday, July 12, at Green's Creek Marina, on Atlantic Avenue in West Sayville, said officials with the West Sayville Fire Department.
