Man Found Shot Inside Vehicle In Area Police are investigating the shooting of an area man found shot inside a vehicle. Police were alerted to the crime in Orange County around 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, when officers responded to a Shot Spotter notification in the City of Newburgh in the area of 32 Roe Street. Devon Johnson, of Queens, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in Westbury for the scam which took place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, said the Nassau County Police. Long Island Man Arrested After Accidentally Shooting Himself In Hand Police arrested a Long Island man for illegally possessing a handgun after he accidentally shot himself in the hand. The unidentified Patchogue man was cleaning his gun at his residence when he accidentally shot himself in the hand on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at approximately 2:50 p.m., said the Suffolk County Police. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.  Investigators determined the man did not legally own the gun, police said.  Fifth Squad detectives charged the man with criminal possession of a firearm.
