Man Accused Of Trying To Burn Down House During Northern Westchester Domestic Dispute A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the arson of a home with the residents inside that caused damage to the residence in Northern Westchester. Michael Trestka, of Cortlandt, was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 4 by the New York State Police with assistance from the Westchester County Police, said Trooper AJ Hicks. The fire took place around 10 a.m. when troopers responded to Redmill Road in the town of Cortlandt for a report of a domestic incident, said Hicks. Covid-19: New Case Reported At School In Ridgefield Some 28 students and 16 staff members are in quarantine after coming into contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 at a school in Ridgefield. The new case, at Scotland Elementary School, brings the number of schools in the Ridgefield School district to seven of the nine schools in the district that have been affected by exposure to COVID-19, according to the district's data tracker. CT State Police Seek Witnesses In Pair Of Crashes That May Involve A Pickup Truck The Connecticut State Police are seeking witnesses to a pair of crashes that may involve a light-colored pickup truck that was seen near both crashes. Assisted Living Worker Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Patient's Engagement Ring A 36-year-old woman who worked at an assisted living center was charged with larceny after allegedly stealing a resident's engagement ring. Layota Dacosta, of Bridgeport, was arrested on an active warrant on Wednesday, Oct. 28, after the victim's daughter contacted the Darien Police Department, where the facility is located, said Sgt. Longtime Greenwich Police Detective Promoted To Sergeant A longtime Greenwich Police detective has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. On Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, Chief James Heavey announced Det. ID Released For Man Found Dead At Fairfield Prep A missing man whose body was discovered in the parking lot of Fairfield Prep has been identified. The man, Earl Ingram of Wormwood Road in Fairfield, was found around 6:56 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, by the worker in the parking area of Fairfield University and Fairfield Prep, said Fairfield Police Lt. House Fire Breaks Out In Rockland A fire destroyed an extension being added to a Rockland County home over the garage area and moved to parts of the main residence. The blaze began around 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at the home at 24 Woodside Drive in New City. The New City Fire Department, along with several other fire companies worked to extinguish the fire, said the Clarkstown Police. No injuries were reported, but the home did receive major damage.

Woman Forced To Floor By Five Armed Men During Long Island Home Robbery, Police Say Police on Long Island are investigating a home burglary involving five men in which they forced a woman to the floor. Nassau County Police said the incident took place around 11:38 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, in Freeport on Johnson Place. Man Driving Drunk Charged With Leaving Scene Of Crash In Area An out-of-state man was charged with alleged DUI and other charges after hitting another vehicle in the area and leaving the scene of the crash.
