Losing Candidate, In-Law Spared Prison After Secretly Recording NJ Mayor: Prosecutor Two women were entered into a pretrial intervention program after admitting to discreetly recording the mayor of Readington Township last summer, authorities said. On Monday, July 1, Christina Albrecht, a 45-year-old Flemington woman placed a recording device on the fence at The Rail, a restaurant in Whitehouse Station, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée Robeson said. Newark Man Arrested For Liquor Store Break-In: Franklin Borough Police A 36-year-old Newark man was recently arrested for breaking into a Sussex County liquor store and taking alcohol, police said. Angel Soler used a tool to break the glass sliding door of Right Bottle at Sterling Plaza, Franklin Borough police said. Soler gained entry to the cash register, removed bottles of alcohol and a tablet belong to the store, police said. Soler was charged burglary, theft of movable property, and criminal mischief, police said. He was also arrested by the Passaic County Sheriff's Office on unrelated charges, police said.

Woman, Two Dogs Rescued After Being Submerged In Water: Gloucester PD A woman and her two dogs were rescued after they became trapped in partially frozen water in Camden County on Sunday, Jan. 5, authorities said. At 1:45 p.m., officers and firefighters responded to Timber Creek Dog Park at 1701 Chews Landing Rd. in Blackwood and found the woman and her two dogs stuck in the water, Gloucester Township police said. Matawan Man Sentenced For Hidden Bathroom Recordings, Distributing Child Porn: Prosecutor A 59-year-old Matawan man was sentenced to nine years in state prison on Friday, Jan. 3, for recording women, including a 16-year-old girl using the bathroom at a residence in Brick Township, authorities said. Michael Mattina secretly recorded six female victims, including one 16 year-old victim, utilizing a hidden camera located in the bathroom of a residence in Brick Township. Further investigation revealed that Mattina posted the videos of the victims on two adult websites, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said. Woman Sexually Assaulted In Jersey City Home Invasion: Prosecutor A home invasion led to a woman being sexually assaulted inside her home in Jersey City on the evening of Sunday, Jan. 5, authorities said.
