Multiple Shots Fired At Vehicles, House In Fairfield County, Police Say
Police are investigating a shooting in which bullets hit a Fairfield County residence and five vehicles.
The incident took place around 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, on the 20 block of East Walnut Street in Stamford.
When police responded to the area after receiving multiple calls from residents, they found that "numerous shots had been fired, said Stamford Police Capt. Richard Conklin.
No one was injured, but officers did recover a large number of shell casings, he said.
“The good news is nobody got hurt," Conklin said.

Fairfield County Woman Accused Of Defacing Buildings With Political Graffiti, Police Say
A Fairfield County woman has been arrested for defacing numerous buildings with political graffiti.
Emily Winters, age 65, of Fairfield, turned herself into Fairfield Police on Wednesday, Jan. 27, after the department requested help from the public and with the assistance of the media, said Lieutenant Antonio Granata.
Following the request, police received several tips, which led to Winters, Granata said.
The graffiti was discovered on Tuesday, Jan. 12, on the exterior walls of TJ Maxx, the foundation of the Tunxis Hill Corner Plaza, and the driveway of McKinley School.

Rash Of Shootings Could Be Related To Long Island Gang Dispute, Police Say
Police are investigating a spate of recent shootings on Long Island in recent weeks which could be related to a gang dispute, police say.
The most recent drive-by shooting took place around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, with 40 shots fired by three different guns into a home on Teed St., in Huntington Station, said the Suffolk County Police.
Police confirm there have been seven shootings in Huntington Station over the last few weeks, including five this month.

New Capitol Riot Arrest Made On Long Island
A Long Island man has been arrested by FBI agents on a charge of illegally being part of the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol.
Justin McAuliffe, age 39, of Bellmore, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 28, for taking part in the riotous insurrection at the capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6, according to a complaint filed in federal court.
The complaint filed in Central Islip on Jan. 28, shows a picture of McAuliffe, an accountant on Long Island, sitting in the office of either an unidentified member of the Senate or the House and holding up two fingers in a "Victory" sign.

Silver Alert Issued For Connecticut Teen
A Silver Alert has been issued for a Connecticut teen who has not been seen in more than a week.
On Wednesday, Waterbury Police issued an alert for Linda Howard, 16, of Waterbury, said Lt. David Silverio.
Howard's mother said the teen left home around 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, and has not returned, Silverio said.
The teen has been in contact several times with an older sibling since leaving home, he added.
She is likely with Ai’shira R. Bennett, 15, who also left her Waterbury home on Jan. 21. Howard is believed to be in New York City.

Duo, Including Westchester Man, Stole High-End Handbags In Fairfield County, Police Say
Police arrested two men in connection with the theft of more than $20,000 in high-end handbags from a Fairfield County merchant.
Members of the Greenwich Police Organized Retail Criminal Activity Unit chased three suspects on foot down Greenwich Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 27, after they were observed steeling high-value handbags from a local merchant, said Lt. John Slusarz.
Two of the suspects were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and struggle. The third suspect got away with over $20,000 of merchandise, Slusarz said.
