Alleged Bed Bug Infestation Prompts Dutchess Couple To Sue Disney
A Hudson Valley couple who were bitten by bed bugs at a Vero Beach, Fla., Disney Vacation resort is suing the company for a ruined vacation and physical and emotional distress, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
According to a lawsuit, filed in June, Allyson L. Masciotti-Hamedl and Kevin Hamedl, of Poughquag in Dutchess County, claim Disney failed to “exercise reasonable care and breached its duty” to properly operate the popular resort, said the Journal.
The couple is asking for damages of between $100,000 and $1 million, for the September 2016 stay, the Journal added.

Rosie O'Donnell Selling Properties In South Nyack For $11M
Rosie O'Donnell is downsizing and that includes selling her five properties on one compound in Nyack for right around $11 million.The comedian, who also has homes for sale in Florida and New Jersey, has owned the spread since 2013, but is now looking to downsize, said her realtor Hamid Moghadam, of Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty.

Bus Driver Injured In Valley Cottage Crash
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A school bus driver was injured in a crash with another vehicle in Valley Cottage around 8 a.m., Thursday, Clarkstown Police said.
The accident occurred when the bus and a car crashed near 293 Christian Herald Road, west of Route 9W, pushing the bus onto a resident's property, said Clarkstown Officer Pete Walker.
The driver, who received minor injuries, was treated and released from Nyack Hospital, he said.
There were no children on the bus at the time and the other driver was not injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, Walker added.
Joe Davis, First African-American White Plains Firefighter, Dies At 96
Joseph "Joe" Davis, 96, a longtime White Plains resident and the first African-American fireman in the City of White Plains died on Sunday, Nov. 5.
Born in Sheldon, S.C., on Aug. 30, 1921, Davis was the eldest of five siblings. The family moved to White Plains when he was 8-years-old where he attended school in the White Plains school district, graduating from White Plains High School.
