Ramp Closures Scheduled On I-684, I-84 Motorist should be prepared for overnight ramp closures for both I-684 and I-84 for road construction beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and running through Saturday, Nov. 11. Female Hiker Rescued Near Bear Mountain Bridge Firefighters worked for more than an hour to rescue a female hiker from the Blue Trail near Anthony's Nose at Bear Mountain Bridge after she fell and twisted her ankle. The incident took place around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday when the woman injured herself preventing her from hiking back down the trail, said Continental Village Fire Chief Tom Radocaj. Working with Peekskill EMS, New York State Park Police, State Police and Cortlandt VAC, the group was able to strap the woman to a skid and carry her down the mountain to a staging area near the toll house on Bear Mountain Bridge Road, he added. Man Nabbed For DWI After Losing Control Of Car, Hitting Tree In Putnam Police nabbed a 26-year-old man for DWI after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree, according to Kent Police Chief Alex DiVernieri Jr. Brandon Birdsall, of New Milford, Conn., was arrested after officer Dan Huestis noticed his pick-up truck off the side of the road around 1 a.m. Sunday on Route 52 near Ludingtonville Road, the chief said. The truck appeared to have struck a tree and an investigation by the officer determined that Birdsall was intoxicated, DiVernieri said. Birdsall was arrested and charged with DWI. Hudson River 'Kayak Killer' Angelika Graswald Set To Be Sentenced After months in jail, Angelika Graswald will be sentenced Wednesday for the 2015 death of her financé who drowned after she tampered with his kayak and then left him in the cold and choppy waters of the Hudson River. Her attorney, Richard A. Portale, said that she will appear before the judge at 10 a.m. for sentencing on a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide under an agreement Graswald made with the Orange County District Attorney's Office in July. Teen Stabbed During Fight With Brother In Westchester A fight between two brothers ended with one in the hospital with stab wounds and the other in the lock-up at the New Rochelle Police Department. The unidentified teen brothers got into an argument around 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ellenton Ave. in New Rochelle, said Police Capt. Robert Gazzola. One of the teens stabbed the other in the chest/torso area causing serious injuries, he said. The teen that stabbed his brother was arrested and is awaiting booking at the New Rochelle Police Department. This is a developing story. Check with Daily Voice for updates.

Bridge In Tivoli Reopens To Traffic DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Good news motorists, the bridge on Broadway over the Stony Creek in the Village of Tivoli has reopened to traffic. There will be ongoing project work requiring the use of a single-lane alternating traffic pattern, controlled by flaggers, over the next several weeks, but drivers will still be able to cross the bridge, according to the Dutchess County Department of Public Works.
