Female Hiker Rescued Near Bear Mountain Bridge Firefighters worked for more than an hour to rescue a female hiker from the Blue Trail near Anthony's Nose at Bear Mountain Bridge after she fell and twisted her ankle. The incident took place around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday when the woman injured herself preventing her from hiking back down the trail, said Continental Village Fire Chief Tom Radocaj. Man Nabbed For DWI After Losing Control Of Car, Hitting Tree In Putnam Police nabbed a 26-year-old man for DWI after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree, according to Kent Police Chief Alex DiVernieri Jr. Brandon Birdsall, of New Milford, Conn., was arrested after officer Dan Huestis noticed his pick-up truck off the side of the road around 1 a.m. Sunday on Route 52 near Ludingtonville Road, the chief said. The truck appeared to have struck a tree and an investigation by the officer determined that Birdsall was intoxicated, DiVernieri said. Birdsall was arrested and charged with DWI. Teen Stabbed During Fight With Brother In Westchester A fight between two brothers ended with one in the hospital with stab wounds and the other in the lock-up at the New Rochelle Police Department. The unidentified teen brothers got into an argument around 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ellenton Ave. in New Rochelle, said Police Capt. Robert Gazzola.  One of the teens stabbed the other in the chest/torso area causing serious injuries, he said.
